Hi! You guys know Albeniz? Albeniz and Granados are a famous Spanish composer. If you want to feel Spanish classical music, I recommend that you guys try to listen to Granados’s and Albeniz’s pieces. Several years ago, I was invited as a pianist for Albeniz’s Iberia Concert. So, I have got attached to Albeniz's pieces. Today, I prepared the piece “Asturias”. It is well-known as a famous classical guitar piece. But, originally, it was composed as a piano piece. Asturias is the region which is located in north-west Spain. I tried to find out the composition background of the piece “Asturias”. But, I was not able to find the accurate information. Some papers say that it describes the war in the Asturias region. But, I am not sure that it is the accurate information. If you guys know the accurate information, please leave the comment. It will be helpful for people. I hope that you guys enjoy this piece. Thank you! Have a nice day!

Did you know that... Asturias, was, first, named Leyenda by Albeniz The name Asturias was given to it posthumously by the German publisher Hofmeister, who included it in the 1911 "complete version" of the Suite española, although Albéniz never intended the piece for this suite. This music is commonly played on the guitar but was originally composed for piano. So thank you kassia for sharing this music on its original instrument ❤️

One of the most underrated pieces. It's widely known as a piece for guitar. The original was for a piano. Of course the guitar version is warmer due to the nature of the instrument but your playing is surprisingly warm too. Keep up the great work, more of these spanish pieces should be recognised.

Describes perfectly the landscape and life of Asturies, beautiful green forests, contrasted with the gray and black tones of the mountains and mines, while being accompanied by the crash of the waves on the shore, and the fishermen struggling against the strong waves that the north has to offer. Truly a masterpiece, fit for the name of Asturies, greetings from Ribeseya

"The thing about this piece is that it says 'Let me show you what the piano can do.' It has everything from unique chords, to percussive parts, to lyrical lines. Everybody plays Liszt and Mozart and Chopin and Schubert but this piece...it's so off the spectrum. No one's ever even heard of it. It's like its own universe." My piano teacher told me this when he taught me El Albaicín by Albeniz about a year ago. It's become one of my favorite pieces I've ever had the pleasure to play. My piano teacher's words can be applied to a lot of Albeniz' pieces, including this one. I always get excited when I watch your videos and recognize a familiar piece or composer, but I'm beyond ecstatic that you performed Albeniz. As always, thank you for sharing your music :)

I encourage you to listen to the guitar version if you haven't. As fantastic as this performance is, Albéniz's music was always destined to be played on guitar whether or not he intended it to be. There's many amazing recordings of this on the guitar, the most famous being from Andres Segovia. My favorites are probably Manuel Barrueco or John Williams (not the composer haha). I hope you like it.

Imo, this piece isn’t REALLY hard, it just looks so because it’s fast. If you learn the notes you’ll realize it and once you practice more you’ll get better and eventually you can play it as fast as this video! I play piano and I was in 4th grade when I performed this piece. In the beginning, I started pretty slow, then practiced more and more on this and faster! Reminder: Don’t be so scared to play this because if you listen carefully, the piece is very repetitive. Also, when I learned this piece I started with both hands together-not sure if that helps everyone though. Overall, it took about me 2 months and a half to complete this piece. I hope this helps you and you won’t be so scared of playing this anymore! 😊😊

Absurdo.

Me encantó!!!

Perfect piece to play when your dad just fell out of the window of the 3rd floor and the police suspects that your mother pushed him.

I fell in love with this..

It's the exact opposite... the guitar transcription is for beginners, but the piano original is rather advanced.

O Concerto para Piano n°2 , I. Allegro seria incrível. Obrigado.
