🌟✨Alberobello✨🌟
Alberobello is a basic municipality (comune) in the province of Bari, Apulia, Italy, with a population of about 11,000.
It is known to have about 1,500 traditional houses called "Trulli". The house, with its white masonry and conical masonry roof, was built by peasants gathered for reclamation in the 16th and 17th centuries. Many trullo groups (plural "trulli") that were once widely seen in this region still exist, and the landscape used as houses and shops is valuable. "Alberobello trulli" was registered as a World Heritage Site in 1996. Has been done.
The areas that are registered as World Heritage Sites are the Aia Piccola area and the Monti area (Monti, also known as the "Rione Monte area"). There are 1030 Trulli in Aia Piccola and 590 in Monti.
According to Pragmatica de Baronibus, which was in effect until 1700, the construction of the new town required the approval of the king and the lord had to pay taxes to the royal palace. A story that relates Trullo's simple structure to tax savings is that "a house with a stucco-painted roof" was taxable, so when the tax collector came, the residents demolished the roof."
(In fact, a tax collector's report from the Kingdom of Naples in 1644 stated that a house had been demolished to prevent tax collection.)
