Awesome how you're taking a cerebral approach to this, rather than just showing us a move and having us mimic.

Bro you're taking me back to the early 2000s I worked at an after hours club. Weekly party from like midnight Thursday to till Monday morning. Honestly some of the best in my life.

I was really struggling with the hand wave. Watched other videos but your "steps" approach really helped, start slow with each step and then slowly go faster till it's smooth. Love it

you're an amazing lecturer! i love how you break everything down and get down to the real science behind the illusions. keep it up man! i enjoy watching your videos

This tutorial is really good - I got the basics already after like an hour. what I personally found difficult was where u need to set the corner point to go around it. I find myself setting the spot far more to the corner side then I did when I first tried to recreate your motions. This is in order to be able to move both my tiny wrist ankles around that corner point and still having a straight line when you look at it from the front. This also requires me to really bend my rump to maintain the "box".

K!ck Thanks for the feedback. The wrists can definitely feel awkward at first

Thx -- I'm coming across some new revelations about dance recently that I'm keen on getting up in some new videos. I'll make something within the next month or so.

That's great news. I'll be sure to check back! I like the way you speak articulately about the philosophy of dance, rather than solely going through the mechanics.

That was an excellent video, man. I can't believe there're this few comments and likes so far. My basic box was way better just by the time I got to the end. I loved the move at 16:16 by the way. More please! :)

8:45.....really good point A.... I didn't get what you meant til you gave the example....something I had never really thought about (practicing what we are trying to pretend to give authenticity). Really interesting video mate! :)

Should I focus on having my forearms follow the shape of the rail or just the wrist/hands? I'm having trouble focusing on everything from the elbow to finger tips
@AlbertHwang10 жыл бұрын
In terms of focus, I'd actually suggest not focusing on your body at all. Your focus should be on the point in space that your hands are rounding over. Definitely take it slow at first to make sure that you articulate as much as you can. It's like learning to ride a bike. You don't want to focus on where your feet are... you want to focus on moving forward. Don't focus on where your hands / forearms are, focus on what your body is moving through.

Albert Hwang : Dude, where did you get that T-Shirt? That thing is bomb! I must have!!!
@AlbertHwang6 жыл бұрын
Ha, thanks. Yeah it's from a company in SF called upper playground. Dunno if it's evident in the vid but it actually says police instead of pee Chee, and instead of kids playing sports it's cops chasing kids. I personally stopped wearing it a while ago for a variety of reasons, but I still do really admire the design as well as the company.

When you make these videos try not to drag on the explanation or come to so many points where u cur yourself and start over. Your explaining it good but for someone like me with high anxiety looking for a good tutorial to listen to this makes it really hard to focus. Just some feedback if your makin vids appreciate the knowledge man
