Alberto Grau "Kasar mie la gaji" / "The Earth is tired" ARS CANTANDI

The piece is a kind of ecological manifesto composed to activate the international movement to save the Earth, protect its natural resources and the environment. The composer is a Venezuelan - Alberto Grau - founder of the famous choir school Schola Cantorum de Caracas and an activist for the musical education of children and youth from poor districts of the country. “Kasar mie la gaji” is a unique work that in its own way illustrates the lament of Mother Earth. Only one sentence is obtrusively repeated in the composition, which is also included in the title itself: "Kasar mie la gaji" which means "The Earth is tired". The text consists of words spoken by African tribes inhabiting the Sahel region, i.e. the southern range of the Sahara. In the sounds of the song you can hear the sounds of wind and a rising sandstorm

🇵🇱 Utwór to swego rodzaju manifest ekologiczny skomponowany dla zaktywizowania międzynarodowego ruchu na rzecz ratowania Ziemi, ochrony jej naturalnych surowców i środowiska. Kompozytorem jest Wenezuelczyk - Alberto Grau - założyciel słynnej szkoły chóralnej Schola Cantorum de Caracas i aktywny działacz na rzecz edukacji muzycznej dzieci i młodzieży z biednych dzielnic kraju. „Kasar mie la gaji” to wyjątkowe dzieło, które w swoisty sposób ilustruje lament Matki Ziemii. W kompozycji powtarza się natrętnie tylko jedna sentencja zawarta także w samym tytule „Kasar mie la gaji” co znaczy „Ziemia, jest zmęczona” . Tekst stanowią słowa wypowiadane przez afrykańskie plemiona zamieszkujące krainę Sahel czyli południowe pasmo Sahary. W dźwiękach utworu można usłyszeć odgłosy wiatru i wzbierającej burzy piaskowej
Jest to fragment naszego występu z przesłuchań konkursowych Grand Prix Polskiej Chóralistyki im. Stefana Stuligrosza , które odbyły się w listopadzie 2022 w auli Uniwersytetu Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu
