This makes me sad. This show was my childhood and I went to several open runs and games in LA. The fame got to their heads and it gets worse in the later seasons. These cats were so focus on getting to the nba because of skip and didn’t appreciate the legend they were growing and becoming.

100%. And1 would still be just as strong today. The professor has a huge following doing the same thing by himself. I used to go to the open runs in Raleigh 2002-5

@@SneakerDrawings bruh they’d be bigger because of KZbin. I watched AO interview from 2 years ago dude said they were getting they started off getting 60k than went to 200k by season 3. If you watch the later seasons these dudes were saying they’re bigger than nba players and wanted 2 millions per player. It went from being about them playing street ball to egos and pride

Yeah man coming back and looking at all these seasons as an adult is fuckin crazy lol. I was 10 when this show first came out on ESPN back in 2002, now I’m 30 and I see shit from a much different perspective. Like the end of the season 1 when the camera guy asked skip “Which one’s going to the NBA?” And he said “None of them made it.” That shit hit me so much differently than it did back then as a kid. I was just in awe to see these guys I looked up to them for sure on some hood superstars type shit. But now that I’m older it’s only certain cats who actually UNDERSTOOD things like Alimoe, Hot Sauce, Skip, Escalade etc. Them niggaz was so focused on trying to make the league that they coulda turned And1 into their own league with that style of basketball playing. But man oh man, they had a GREAT RUN from 99-04. By 05 shit started to change for the worse, I still fucked with the show but by 2007 I was in HS doing my marching band stuff so yeah I wasn’t on it like that anymore lol. Much love to these guys though that was a fun era to be apart of in the 2000s decade. I’m glad to say I went to the games when they came to my hometown in Detroit in 04 & 05. Seeing Air Up There actually do the 360 between the legs in 05 was some superfly ass shit 😂✊💯
