Very good performance by the modern player trio; beautiful and melancholic compositions by Albinoni.

With Albino's Trio Sonatas one can summarize its sublime melodies with PLATO: "Music must be felt, it penetrates the soul & cleans it."

He is not "used" by the fugue .. he never loses the harmony and bel canto even in the tightest "stretti" . He plays what works and knows that there is an audience out there .Bach transcribed the 3rd and 12th fugue...absolutely beautiful.

Their is not one of Albinoni's works that does not show the Love of his compositions. A real "Tour De Force"!!! He shows what strings can do in all of his works!!

I agree. It seems every work he composed is high quality and original, and sounds interesting. His works regularly dispatch something deeply achieved or calmly optimistic, more than Vivaldi in my taste. He is my favorite baroque composer, along with Muffat.

Albinoni seems more virtuous than Bach and more focused than Vivaldi. Brilliant Classics, make it true. Give us the Albinoni Edition.

I find Albinoni to be more primitive than both. But "more primitive" is oftentimes what I want to hear.

Can anyone tell me if the well-known Adagio by Remo Giazotto (better known as Adagio di Albinoni) is based on fragments of a slow movement of some of these sonatas?

A lot of his work was destroyed in 1945, in late of WW2, because of bombings in Dresden.
