I remember being in elementary school and purposely sitting in front of the girls that I knew would play with my hair! That part with the 'lack of stage fright' really resonated with me. I was a pretty isolated child; I wanted to be alone most of the time and I still do. I also prefer to work alone, even though I have a great relationship with my lovely colleagues. At the same time, I like speaking in front of people and entertaining them. Just goes to show that people are so much more than strict "introverts" or "extroverts", we all have our unique strengths and feel more at ease in some situations than in others.

this might be a very weird request but id loooove if you could do a video of positive affirmations for other lgbtq+ people? like for example, im bi and it took me a long long time to realize it and sometimes i still feel a lot of shame for it because of societal issues and biphobia in general, so it’d be really really cool to listen to a soft relaxing voice telling my identity isn’t fake or something like that! i know it’s probably really weird lmao but i just think it’s be nice for some of us. it might be reassuring for deeply closeted people to hear someone validating them, idk. anywho!! i love your channel so much :’) ❤️

I LOVE having my hair played with and brushed, but I have no friends to do it for me. :( When I was in school, teachers stopped kids from doing it because it was "inappropriate touching."
@wybiecore6 жыл бұрын
GamerKitty45 wtf is wrong with those teachers 😒 I understand if it distracts them but saying it's inappropriate touching is disgusting :(
@kellynemecek58946 жыл бұрын
GamerKitty45 Because of my anxiety, and because it felt nice, as a kid I played with my hair a heck of a lot in school. My fourth grade teacher called me out on it in the middle of class. She scolded me, “Kelly, this isn’t a barber shop.” I couldn’t believe her. I was so embarrassed. I’ve heard the “inappropriate touching” line too similarly when girls would braid each other’s hair during school.
@glitchvomit6 жыл бұрын
Kelly Nemecek that’s so frustrating, ugh. i’m a trans man and didn’t come out until college, so i can relate to the experience of being a young girl enjoying having my hair touched and played with by other girls, and the resultant anxiety. if one party is uncomfortable, no matter where the touch is occurring, said touching is inappropriate (and we should encourage kids to speak up if anything anyone else is doing makes them uneasy) but if both parties are content and, in a school setting, it’s not detracting from the quality of the students’ work or distracting them from the lessons at hand, who cares? innocent and consensual touch between children is nothing to fret about. not to mention the implicit discouragement of close female friendships wherein physical contact is a crucial component... im not sure if my words and sentiments are making sense but. in short, let youngsters engage in safe, consensual, and calming activities like playing with each others’ hair.
@kellynemecek58946 жыл бұрын
Damien Phillips You’re totally making sense. I agree with you. If it’s not distracting anyone, and if both parties are comfortable with it, because that part is really important, then I think it’s okay. Even at a young age, it’s so important to find people you feel comfortable and safe with, and so children are learning about trusting relationships when they might not even realize it. The hair playing is an example in my opinion.

When I was younger I had really long hair and my classmates would sometimes brush it- I cut all my hair off now (which I don't regret) but I do miss people brushing my hair 😭
