Incredible Edda Dell'Orso. She is out of this world. Nobody can remotely come close to her. She has a spectacular voice that will transcend time and space for eternity. Infinite thanks Maestro Ennio for choosing her for many of your amazing works of musical art. I would gladly die in her arms when my time comes. A voice of an angel for sure. Maybe she is secretly one. I would have loved to see her perform live.

Edda SOARS. I always dreamed of being in the studio, hearing her doing it live. Legend has it that she did her performances in one take (a little bit exhaggerated, I think) and only the fantasy words - Pidgin English and other vocal sound effects like panting and screaming - she improvised on the spot. She recorded a lLOT of these cues. She was a very, very professional vocalist for sure, and in Rome hot in demand. Europe and America had no idea what Italy had in store! There was Christianne Legrand, Daniele Licari, Letty De Jong and one other I've forgotten, but there was no Edda!

In an interview, the Maestro said something about this: "Edda is very professional. But she's not suitable for live performances" Whut? I always doubted that. He suggested that she has not enough power in her voice?? Edda was famous for studio recordings in one take, witnesses have said that she rarely had to do it over again. And vocal volume can be enhanced, in the studio. There's more to Morricone's remark, I suspect. But we'll never know.... There is a clip on YT from a 1967's TV show where about six female singers from I Cantori Moderni perform a song, conducted by Ennio himself, and every singer has a short solo moment, and the last one steps out of that line to the front-- Eddah. She sounds fine, but I don't know if this was really live... I must say that during the last 10 years Edda performed in a small venue series, (they are to be found on YT somwhere) but by that time her voice had lost it's clarity and power notably. She was already in her late seventies.

Hi Ladypodtron, I'd try his Veruska soundtrack as the gold standard kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGmUlZqvmq6fgKs and maybe this piero piccioni compilation kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqO9cmygi7mkntE and getting in to the realm of less serious music there's the soundtrack to Vampyros Lesbos kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJiQeYCapbejfNU and this French compilation kzbin.info/www/bejne/aoqYm2aDZdKlorc and to top it off a sprinkling of this Piero Umiliani comp kzbin.info/www/bejne/o16cXmiXo5KLg9U all from my youtube channel, its been great listening to some of them while making this list! there you go, I've let you into all my soundtrack secrets!
where is this recorded from since there is no vinyl crackling sounds in it ? I bought copy of the 2016 re-print and it's even mint! and it has those crackling sound in it I think the original print has them since even after cleaning those crackles sounds the same :/

@@georgemichas3393 - Here's the one I found on KZbin. It's only 1 hr and 15 minutes though. Not sure if some is missing or the uploader has speeded the film up a little to get around copyright. You can change the subtitle language to Italian in the settings and to translate into English. As mentioned, it's a little clumsy and sometimes the subtitles aren't there long enough to read it all. Despite those minor niggles, George, it's watchable. Hope you enjoy ... :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/lX2Qe2Samduee9E
