The CD Moscow Calling by Gorky Park released in July 1992 had 9 different singles released in different parts of the world from the album, though the album was not released in the USA. 5 of which they made videos for. Singles: "Moscow Calling" "All Roads" "I´m Going Down" "Welcome To The Gorky Park" "Tell Me Why" "Two Candles" "Dont Pull The Trigger" "Politics Of Love" "Stranger". Videos were made for Moscow Calling, Stranger, Tell Me Why, I´m Going Down, & Two Candles. Their debut album in 1989 was released in USA titled Gorky Park, songs like "Bang" "Try To Find Me" & "Peace In Our Time" gained attention, the song Peace In Our Time feauted Jon Bon Jovi & Richie Sambora. Their 2nd CD was even better. They continued as a quartet after their vocalist Nikolai Noskov left, as their bass player Big Sasha took over lead vocals, with a couple songs sung by guitarist Alexey Belov.

She may be a Colombian artist but she’s on Universal Latino, and that’s my girl, Karol G! ❤️ Her second album, _Ocean_ (2019) saw 9/15 tracks released as singles. Then her third album _KG0516_ (2021), as well as her recent fourth _Mañana Será Bonito_ (2023), both had 7 or 8 singles released off of them. I remember back in the day it was like, one lead single prior to the album release, then the artist or group typically released between two-four more singles off that album after it dropped. Of course those were radio days… so the fact that Shania, for example, released twelve singles from Come On Over was pretty intense even back then. But there’s a reason for her success. I think in these "modern" times of streaming, piracy, and general music availability, musicians release more than a few singles, because people nowadays search for what they want. Back in the day, if your radio was on, you’d inevitably hear whatever was played unless you changed the station. Promo was a little easier back then. Either way, people get to search for and customize what they want now, so maybe that’s why.

Those of us of a "certain age" will lovingly remember when the Billboard Hot 100 was the Billboard Hot 100 Singles! Back then, a song could NOT chart unless it was available in some physical format (7 and 12" vinyl, cassette, CD) to purchase even if it was receiving substantial national radio airplay. Madonna had several songs in the 80's that were big radio hits (Gambler, Where's the Party, Spotlight) that probably would've charted quite high if they were issued as commercial singles (promotional formats did not count). With streaming, digital downloads and social media platforms, EVERYTHING from an album is a "single" now! It seems that a song can be a "hit" now without anyone actually buying it! 😎
