The size of the canvas is proportional to my confidence 😂 they look great! Thank you for taking us along 🎨

I do like the loose, short, thick brushstrokes in this painting ... very impressionistic.

Both great paintings! So refreshing (and encouraging) that a painter I have long admired--Tim Horn--has trepidation just like the rest of us mere mortals when tackling a subject.

What of my new favorites! Also love that u are you painting with Tim Horn. Thanks for explaining your process ❤

That 16x24 is a perfect size for that scene. Love the boathouse coming in from the side, and how the eye moves through the painting. Thank you both for sharing the experience!

Hearing Tim Horn saying he loses his confidence is priceless, thanks Tim I guess that feeling is always going to be there in the beginning of a painting 😅 Both paintings came out great and what a beautiful day in SF 🎨👊🏻

Sooooo good, Michael! I absolutely love when you paint buildings! They are always so striking. Hoping you can do some cityscapes this summer if your schedule allows. They're always so amazing too.

Great painting and brushwork. Really reminded me of the early California Impressionists. Side question for Tim.......what kind of sunglasses are those that you are able to paint with?

Really liked your comment about people's reaction to the early process of painting. When I paint, most of the comments I get are when my work is barely started. Even myself, your work came out much nicer than I had feared.

I just experienced the block in thing myself at Leo Carillo. There was a lot of people walking by quickly and pretending they weren’t looking. There was a gradual turning point though where slowly they started stopping to say nice things about it. 😂 but I could definitely feel the cringing faces in the early stages.
