The problem is only the male SS was in the military (which I believe you can mention to Danse early on), the female SS was a lawyer, though there are still some files showing both were originally in the military before they changed it.

Pretty reasonable assumption, if you woke up 200yrs later you'd not recognise the society, the culture or the people you looked at as human, you'd see mages, warlocks or demons for all intents and purposes. 1820 to now, when you slept pistols were clunky single shot affairs that needed powder and shot and took 30s to a minute to reload, the furthered you could travel in a day was 30-50 miles at a speed of 25ish and the furthest a message could be carried in a day was that same distance or maybe double that. Today you wake and the first person you meet can spit fire from their hand or staff at between 400 and 1400 rounds per minute, they can speak to people you know to be thousands of miles away and create images of these people merely by waving a hand over or pointing 'wand' at some sheets of glass or even simply by speaking.. This 1820 military officer wouldn't recognise people as people, the hair, the physical size, the build, the speech patterns, the dialect, the lexis, the cultural common knowledge pool referencing events they have no knowledge of, all would be so foreign that they don't understand a single word said.

@Winchester Model 70 think of high school reading Shakespeare how much did you understand? Not the meaning because thats taught but the WHY of it. Why is biting the thumb an insult, wht did everyone know Shylock to be a thief, a crook and a liar now think of common language dialect and insults of today. 'Isn't that special', cunt, karaoke, synthetic, robot, even the way we refer to people (most military titles for example) There are thousands more that come from art, literature, motion pictures and television. You could talk to someone from the 1820's but you'd have to use the very basics of communication as if talking to a small child, but it isnt just that, think of what they'd be supplied with in terms of food and drink. Sealed metal cans produced by machines opened with a ring pull, plastic wrappers, even the very basics of the things that people form connections over like machine rolled cigarettes. Military meals packed in radiation treated and heat sealed mylar. The entire culture would be completely alien and communication would take so long and have to start with discussion of common ground and there isn't that much of that.

Version 2 of this mod came out this year and it's really good! One thing I love is just Fitzpatrick getting lucky as some random soldier and got to survive the war with like the 3 most important people in the govt haha. WHen you talk to him hes even like "i have no idea wtf is going on"

The M16 and the FN-P90c were both in the semi-canon Fallout Tactics though the P90 was also in the more directly canon Fallout 2. So the mod for all that other modern weaponry as well is actually more lore friendly than we realize. Hell, you could say it's really a Fallout Tactics-based mod! lol
