New subscriber here!! You had me at “did I just spill ink on my fake wood table?”… then wipes it with her t-shirt!! 🤣 🤣 Love it!!! But not quite as much as I LOVE this cup!! WOW… what a stunner!! As for the sanding dilemma (can’t judge me cause I’ve never even done a tumbler!… so I’ve never not sanded one… and I swear, if I ever do one… I’ll sand it 😉)… anyway (obviously, I digress also!) back to the sanding dilemma… would it work if you put it on the cup turner whilst it dried? Just asking? So… I’m actually a resin artist… and a wanna-be resin tumbler artist… and very probably a resin, wine glass tumbler artist… and I don’t even drink wine… (but, apparently, they sell like hot cakes)… I, like you, use a huge-ass keep cup that stays full of coffee 24/7! 😳 And yes… I wanna see a marbled one!! Mind you, this vid was put up 4 months ago… so you’ve prolly already done one!?! Luckily I’m off to check out your channel right now!! Much love from Nat. (Brisbane, Australia) ♥️♥️🇦🇺

When I do this technique I use only the white pre-painted sublimation tumblers as I don't need to worry about lifting off the paint and alcohol ink when removing the plastic wrap. Works great every time.

that is a great tip and idea!!! those sub tumblers are a huge hassle saver in certain scenarios.. thank you!!

Love this cup! It’s super pretty as is & I’m totally going to try it, but wondering about merging this method with something that Myra Makes It did a few months ago. When the edges of her ink were still wet, she applied foil & it was a jaw dropper. Sooooo, if the crinkle lines were still a little wet when removing the plastic wrap that might be interesting.

That sounds absolutely gorgeous! And yes, those little crinkles on the lip were definitely unexpected. The thing was, it didn't happen every time. And I grabbed cups that I had already spray painted out in the garage so to be honest is entirely possible that I skipped sanding this little wine glass by accident. The gold foil would be amazing!!!

@@wickedwhiskeydesigns sorry. I meant the webbed / lace looking areas. Were they still wet?

No, everything was dry when I took off the plastic.. when I did the first cup which was primarily purples and greens and blues I thought about going in and using either a gold paint pen to add a little bit of a marbling effect but then I kind of thought that was going to contrast a little too much if there was really strong stained glass look to it. If that makes sense :-) LOL

Hey there, first off, you are f**ken AWESOME!! ...if I am using sublimation ready tumblers do I still have to sand and spray paint first? Sorry fif this is a silly question but I'm just starting to venture into cups, tumblers etc ...thanks ;-)

Could it be the epoxy I have. I’m using the one that came with the spinner

Please tell me how to stop dry sports on a cup when applying resin.

Hey there! I would say it's probably repelling. That happens sometimes depending on the epoxy you're using. It's one of those things that there's no Surefire answer if that's what's happening, if it is, that means that the epoxy is repelling against the ink or the paint or the glitter. It's usually the epoxy fault and not whatever is on the cup. And it doesn't mean that you're using a bad quality resin either, I've had really big expensive brand name brands do that to me and then I would have a really crazy inexpensive resin not do that to me. What I would say is try sealing your cups with spray sealer before you epoxy and see if that helps. Honestly, sometimes it's just not going to. I've grabbed epoxy off Amazon when I ran out knowing that what I was grabbing was a reputable brand and it still did it to me. The only thing I can suggest doing when that happens to you and this is kind of janky but if you add your resume to your cup and you see that starting to repel, he grabbed your spray sealer and spray very lightly over that wet epoxy and then using your finger kind of smooth out as best as you can and blend the spray sealer and the resin as best as you can. That's the only thing that I have ever found that could save the situation. If I would also suggest if that's happening to you to maybe consider switching epoxies. I use KS resin fast set but for a less expensive alternative regular AlumaLite is great, and also super clear epoxy system is great. They're more of an inexpensive option and I've never run into any problems with either of those. Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with ❤
