Beautiful piece Debra! Do you ever watch your videos and think ‘oh, wish I had stopped at this point’? I love working with alcohol inks and sometimes get so into the process that I take that one extra step and wish I’d have stopped. The beauty of the inks is that if I feel like I overstepped, I just keep going and something else wonderful happens. 😁 Hope you survived the lovely weather these past few days. Whew!

@debralynrosenbachart2 жыл бұрын
Alcohol ink is made with a combination of ink and alcohol. When you dispense the product from the tube you use a high percentage 91% isopropyl alcohol to activate it and get it to move. The higher the percentage of alcohol the better, you need faster drying time, which results in better results. You must do this in well ventilated area! I was in garage with car door open. I hope that helps.

Lol. So many times I was telling you to step away from the canvas because you had something beautiful... and you’d pour on more colour or alcohol. The end result does indeed look like blurred waves crashing. I must admit I loved the more smoky clouds look you had a few times there, but that’s just me. Although I went back & zipped back & forth through it & I do really like the end result. Especially if the side closest to you is the top as it looks like a wave folding towards us

Hi Karen, yes! 20+ years of interior, I just retired from it to now pursue my art. This piece is currently hanging over a bed in a model home. As for painting, you have to prep your canvas as I state in the video. And the fluid that disperses the ink is 91% isopropyl alcohol, no water! The higher the % of isopropyl the quick it drys. I prefer 91% this is a ton of fun to do, but it’s best done in your garage with the garage door up for lots of ventilation. Plus it’s really messy, put a tarp down and then lot of old towels…you’ll need them!
