Hello Kimberley ,thank u so much for this really good video ,I live in South Africa and it's just impossible to get any kind of blower ,the proper airbrush is just to much here ,even the rangers Tim holtz simple rubber one ,U can't get and every time when I Google the revlon and other hairdryers ,I get the fancy updated ones all being a 1000 watt excetra or they don't have a cool setting ,I did do the inks a long time ago,😂 then I changed to acrillic pouring and now back to the inks but I see I have to start learning all over again😅 with the inks ,I wonder if it's possible if you know if they are still even available,the hairdryers ,would really appreciate if U know thanks ,I have prescribed to your channel ,it's gonna take me a while ,to watch all your videos thanks again Betsy Thomson

Hello., you are a breath of fresh air, I am an artist using acrylic paint in tubes, water colours, pastels, I also Paint on silk. I want to try what you are doing beautifully. My problem is, that here in the Uk we can’t buy alcohol to add to anything, it’s doing my head in. And making me sad. Have you any idea of where I can buy some? I’d be very grateful if you could help me somehow ❤️😇🙏🕊️💐…….. I will be watching all your fabulous videos! Luv, Chrissie xx

Hi Chrissie! What a sweet compliment! Thank you! I have students in the UK and I can ask around to see what they’re doing about getting alcohol. What about “Blending Solution” made by Ranger. Are you able to get that?

Wow, these are all beautiful! I know you said anyone can do it (with practice), and I agree that the techniques can be learned. But I think your artisan eye is what really brings these to life! The colors you chose and knowing when to stop or to go is what distinguishes you as an artist rather than a crafter. I enjoyed this video very much!

Do you need to seal the tile? My mom would love a set of this art as a gift of coasters. I know that's a clique use for this art, but my mom loves art in all its forms. Art everywhere is her love and I am always looking for ways to give her art that can be part of her daily life. She's funny though. I once bought her a beautiful and vibrant small area rug I found at the tulip festival here in WA state. It designed with natural fibers to be washed and the colors to stay true. She hung it on her bedroom wall! It was a beautiful scene of a row of tulips, and it was pretty big on the wall. Yet it looked awesome.

Thank you so much! I’m glad the video was helpful. Yes, I do seal all of my artwork with Krylon UV Archival spray, at least three light coats. You can also use a two step process, 3 coats of Krylon Kamar, then three coats of Krylon UV Resistant. Please let me know if you have other questions. Thank you again!

Great tutorial. As a matter of interest, have you ever tried blowing the petals with one of those tiny blowers like they use to clean laptop keyboards? Wondering if that will work too 🤷♂️
@kimberlydeenedesigns5 сағат бұрын
Thank you Karen! I’m not sure of the exact product that you’re referring to. I’ve seen the electric blower tools used to clean a keyboard but the problem with those is they only have an on/off switch and you can’t “pump” the air or control how fast it comes out. Let me know if you have any questions. ❤

Alcohol ink performs best on non-porous surfaces. Any surface that absorbs the ink will prevent it from flowing.

Beautiful, what’s the difference in blending alcohol and just 99% alcohol?
@kimberlydeenedesigns Жыл бұрын
You can use either, however alcohol tends to pull some of the color away whereas blending solution keeps the colors more vibrant. Also blending solution has resin in it which helps adhere the inks to the surface. If you’re using “Pearls” or “Alloys”, blending solution is necessary to avoid smudging or flaking off afterwards.

Do you need to seal the title after done, to protect it? If so, what do you use?

Yes. Seal with Kamar Varnish or Krylon UV Archival. These two products are specifically needed to "fix" the ink.

I have been using Aspire alcohol pens, and now that I need more, I’ve discovered they can’t be bought anymore. Can you please point me to alcohol pens of the same quality as Aspire? I recently bought some and was very disappointed by how they bled and how quickly they ran out of ink compared to what I’m used to with Aspire. Help!

Will someone please answer my question? I have question about safety. Thanks in advance for any help your can offer. I understand alcohol ink fumes are toxic. Is the blending solution also toxic or is it safer than isopropyl alcohol? Is it safe to do this art in my apartment? Will the fumes affect other rooms or just the immediate area? I cannot open windows due to the excessive heat and I have no where else to do art. Do I have to give up alcohol ink?

What would happen if you put the alcohol in the well of the airbrush?

Not sure. LOL. I would never try that way because you are vaporizing the alcohol ink, which makes the fumes and organic vapors worse.
