Aldene Junction in Roselle, NJ was a state modifed rail plan which realigned CNJ's passenger trains up a ramp and on to the Lehigh Valley main for routing to Newark's Penn Station. Aldene also served the B&O's Staten Island connection as well as the Rahway Valley. The plan took effect May 1, 1967. Before CNJ's eventual merger into Conrail the tracks were shared with the Reading and B&O with a connection just north of Manville, NJ and continuing on to Elizabeth Port.For a short period there was a Bayonne "scoot" a Budd RDC which ran from Bayonne to Cranford, NJ.
