Alderley Edge, Cheshire - Stunning English village in the Cheshire countryside

Alderley Edge in Cheshire has a reputation as a glitzy place for the rich and famous. Whilst this is definitely part of the character of the place, it is also one of (in my opinion) the loveliest, friendliest villages in Cheshire.
Walking down the Alderley Edge high street on any given day, and you are greeted by the roar of supercars and young lads eager to photograph them, but also so many groups of people chatting, having coffee and just enjoying village life. From families to cyclists, I'd wager you would struggle to find a more social village than Alderley Edge.
The high street contains a large number of venues that help foster this social life. From posh eateries, to country pubs to the village butcher and chocolate maker, this really is a place that epitomises Cheshire.
The picturesque nature of the village doesn't stop there. Take a short drive, walk or cycle up the hill the The Edge. This is a dramatic National Trust property that rises above the village of Alderley Edge and then falls away to reveal stunning views across the Cheshire countryside to Manchester and beyond. A haven for dog walkers and families, not only does the forest provide some incredible views, but also many caves and historic mining sites to be explored.
