I am a fan of classic cars, and guys the only reason they'd use certain types is if they were either A. Heading to the scrap heap B. don't run on the road anymore or C. Rotted away. It's best to use one that's on it's last legs, because I would rather make it have it's last bit of fun then head straight into a car crusher.

@czwij At the end of the day just about all these cars were beyond restoration. Best to go out in a blaze of glory and entertainment than by sitting rotting away in the corner of a scrap yard.

I love classic cars but I don't have a problem with classic demolition derbys. I would say all these cars would be beyond restoration, why not have some fun rather than just crushing them or letting them rot in a field?

Ok I hold an HNC in engineering and am a sales director for a national company, I dont consider myself to be a chav and have an iq of more than bottle of Stella. But i enjoy racing these classics! If they are such classics why is it possible for us to find them relatively easily? Because when we find them it takes 3 weeks of welding just to make them safe enought to race. If they were so important why aren't they all preserved? Because at the end of the day they are just a lump of metal! Grow up

When a lot of these cars were new they were made on the cheap and not very safe. They only get worse with age.
