I would of loved to see you prep and prepare your meals. 😁

Would buy a smaller bag of rice and buy a third bag of veggies with a different blend. You have a lot of good choices for a variety of meal choices. A few soups, stews and fried rice type dishes. Maybe less bananas and buy garlic and onions. Bake a two or three of the chicken drumsticks and reserve the fat. Make some fried rice cakes with onion and garlic in the chicken fat for snacks or side dish. You could also put some shredded chicken or beef crumbles in the fried rice cakes. You could separate the frozen veggies into individual baggies and create a new veggie choice for each meal.

I'm so glad that you plan around gluten free!! It's so hard to find videos with gluten free options & $10 weekly budget! Hopefully you make more videos like this!
@kaylakoupons3 жыл бұрын
I definitely will!! All my videos will be gluten free food :)

Great video ..also when you got meatv going to be expired you could throw it in the freezer there's no problem take out what you need and freeze it.. I always buy me that's getting ready to expire 2 or 3 days and line it up in the freezer and then I got plenty of stuff

can i just say how amazing you are and i loved this video cause there is no beans in it! this is by bar my favorite $10 video sure you went over 41 cents but you still killed this challenge thank you

To make your meals less repetitive in texture/flavour is a huge key to enjoying your food and feeling less restricted. I would take 2 brats and slice them up finely Use 1/2 with a chicken drum meat and a couple bits of your veg sliced into fine pieces to make a fried rice ( sausage fat will add flavour. Poach a couple drumsticks and make a stew with them and brats few veggies some rice. Maybe do a banana rice pudding? Love your take on the food. I can’t eat much beans or pasta so a lot of the ideas won’t work for my situation. Great to see a difference in menu!

Thank you for doing a budget video that doesn't rely on beans. Not everyone cares for them and it's refreshing to see a budget video without them.

Right?! I agree completely. I avoid beans

I'm so glad you added meat to your weekly choice. A lot of videos do not have any meat in their choices and I don't know If I could do a challenge without that. LOL

Ya know what? I believe the sales taxes shouldn't be included in your $10 or any amount challenge..... You did a wonderful shop and getting such a healthy bounty of groceries at anywhere NEAR $10 is amazing!!!!❤❤❤
@Evie1703 жыл бұрын
I also buy black beans, eggs, canned sardines and canned salmon for protein, potatoes for carbs and gluten-free flour to make scones. Also, unsweetened almond milk that is often on sale. :)

I always buy eggs and milk at Aldi. Lots of people have suggested buying an onion or garlic, but Aldi doesn't sell these individually. Unfortunately, most people will have to shop at at least 2 markets to get the best value. I usually say Aldi or Walmart, then have your second market be a local ethnic market for produce. I don't drink tap water, so I save money by filling up large jugs for $0.30/gallon. I feel like a lot of these extreme budget videos don't speak to the reality of most people. There is almost always a little weekly rollover in groceries from week to week. Over years, my pantry is overflowing as I buy dry goods when they're on sale, then each week I typically am only resupplying my fridge (produce, dairy, eggs, meat)
@antonette78013 жыл бұрын
Good job. I would have tried to add a bag of dried beans in place of brats. They cook up well in slow cooker and healthy source of protein. Also, few cans of veggies which can be cheaper on sale.
@tonyaparham21793 жыл бұрын
I would have done beans instead of the chicken. Chicken legs are mostly inedible IMHO and the brats seem like a great price. Maybe eggs and dried beans instead of nearly half the budget on chicken legs.

You are so amazing. What stores do you usually shop at? Do you ever stock up on water? Can you possibly do more in store grocery shopping videos? I think it would be awesome if you could show how you do your full shopping trip
@kaylakoupons3 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! I usually shop at Aldi when I can for stocking up on a lot of things because it's cheapest. I would say next most frequent is Kroger. I do all personal care shopping at CVS, Target, and Dollar General (couponing). I can definitely do a video on just a regular grocery shopping trip (without the $ challenge).

You did excellent I’m doing it on $40 a week for 2022 and I’m going to save anything I don’t spend in a jar and maybe this can help stay stocked and this is a choice for doing it since we are still under the pandemic

Yes but you have to watch sales at different stores..also depends on what you buy as well.. I’m spending about $40 a week but I also keep a list of every item I have on hand.. Some weeks I don’t even shop.. but that’s my set grocery budget for food only..

It is food. Not quality food. You probably won't die. You probably won't thrive eating like this long-term. I invest in my health. I eat organic when possible. I shop at local farm stores when possible.
