I lived my adult life working in the grocery industry. Businesses what to hear from customers the good and the bad. They are only in business because of their customers. If a store manager doesn't help, then go up the line. Ask for supervisors names, and owner's names. Contact the business office. Tell them exactly how you feel, and which employees were good, and who was unpleasant. CUSTOMERS HAVE POWER more than you think. Just remember the businesses are providing a service to you, and without you they don't have a business.

You can go online for Aldi and they have a customer service link you can let them know about needing another store in the area. I am not sure what days you are shopping, I changed my day this time and was so much happier with the stock. I have 3 in my area and they are always packed on the weekends-I think I will now do my Aldi run on Monday-they were stocking like crazy and and even better they were marking great food items down.-I was able to purchase a sampler of cheesecake-16 slices for 2.99 today-YUM! Please let me the Manager know-I am sure he is aware of the problem-not sure where you are located, but I know our stores had a supply problem for a few weeks with all the bad weather that hit Florida and the surrounding areas-they are all caught up now. sorry this was so long-good luck on getting a new Aldi-I also buy for two weeks at a time and so thankful for my local Aldi.

I vote for a bread making video in the future for those of us who are intimidated as crap by yeast and kneading the bread too long/too little! Pumpkin rolls to me are devine when you eat them but such a pain in the ass with short arms that you can't reach to work out the pain with. Hope you enjoyed it and the angels were singing with each bite :) Must admit aldi is an "occasional" store for only certain items for me. Not in love with a lot of their product or prices. Yes, I said it hope you were sitting down for that. Usually I can find the name brand stuff on sale with a coupon (digital mostly or paper when feeling arty and crafty) for the same price or even cheaper. The cottage cheese however will always always always bring me back. The powered creamer is really nice in coffee, this is also being said from someone who only likes "little kid coffee" where it's 3/4 milk half a tablespoon of coffee sugar and creamer but to each their own. Everytime I see the popping biscuits I think of you, and will be using a can of them tonight for biscuits and gravy for dinner. Also going to put in a vote for the icing with the creamer stuff in it next time you make a cake. :) KZbin has just been being a weeniehead lately hasn't it? It's like it's trying to be like real tv and netflix and something else all mixed together with kind of an attitude (just my humble opinion.) Thanks as always for sharing Miss Tam! xo

They closed three Aldis near Rochester NY recently for enlarging & remodeling. They were lclosed for a month each never said they going to close prior to closing. Nancy Coy: i live in Rochester, NY as well and that is totally not true. They told every customer for a couple weeks before they closed the stores for remodel. They also gave everyone three $10 off coupons to use each week they were closed. The new stores are fantastic! I do 90% of my shopping there every two weeks. The issue with shelves being empty is common especially between the 1st thru the 12th of the month due to food stamps coming out. If you shop first thing in the morning on Wednesdays are the best, at least around here. Also, just ask an employee and they will bring things out if they have them in the back.

If you haven't already don't put the sweet potatoes in the frig... it causes the center to harden and makes them taste bad. They should be stored in a well ventilated area (we keep them in our garage in a crate with holes) and away from other vegetables. My great grandmother used to make a sweet potato cellar using soil, limbs and straw. That's not practical for most of us now but they shouldn't be stored in the refrigerator. They like the temperature to be between 60-70 degrees and with relatively high humidity. We keep them for 4-5 months at a time (usually only losing 1 or 2 out of a crate).
@HaulandCo7 жыл бұрын
Do you think they are going bad from keeping them in my pantry? I really think it is the Aldi sweet potatoes. And yes,... you are right, I put them in the fridge and they immediately get all..dimply.. HELP! lol
@cityofoaks7 жыл бұрын
I've never stored them long term in the house but it also very well may be the sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes in NC are usually ready to be dug about this time (late Sept to Oct). You may be buying last year's sweet potatoes or very early potatoes from this year. We usually buy them in 20 lb boxes/crates and store them in a cool, dark place (the garage for us). You can cook them right away and freeze them. Sometimes I bake them and store them in the freezer (either either the skins on or removing the skins) - it depends on how I think I might use them later.
@HaulandCo7 жыл бұрын
How do you keep them from turning brown after cutting? Do you freeze them after pealing?
@cityofoaks7 жыл бұрын
I won't say always but 99.99% of the time I bake my sweet potatoes. Once they're baked and cooled enough to handle I either 1) put them in a large zip top bag with a piece of cardboard (for support) in the peel or 2) peel them, put them in a zip top bag and mash them by hand (for easier freezer storing) and then freeze. I've never had them turn brown either way. Did you mean peel them raw and freeze them? I wouldn't do that. If I weren't going to freeze them I'd just leave them in the garage until I'm ready to use them.
@HaulandCo7 жыл бұрын
I love sweet potatoes! I never thought of precooking. I would love to be able to cut some in chunks and freeze them. Good ideas.

You should write to corporate Aldi or see if they have a Facebook page-and complain there. I have done this with Jet and they respond. They don't like negatives. Ridiculous for a grocery store-to be out of groceries!!
@HaulandCo7 жыл бұрын
I can understand if it would be once or twice... but EVERY time I go it's something and this time, it was like they were preparing to even not carry milk because it was gone and it wasn't just an empty rack... they had filled in around it with other things....
@eepanusstar59407 жыл бұрын
That just doesn't sound right-not if they want business. Do you know many or other Aldi's with the same problem? Sounds like bad management-they must know what is popular and sells fast. No store should ever be out of staple items. I would definitely write-and google Aldi/complaints. Weird. I was in retail management for years-you don't have what customers want-you lose them and there is way too much grocery competition now.

Wow! This shopping haul makes me sad! First - hats off to you for taking the time to share your grocery haul. I find that Aldi is so busy and they have certain days for deliveries of certain products. I don’t shop Aldi on weekends because they are out of many things. I shop produce on Wed and Friday - any other day it’s hit or miss. Also - ask an employee if they have your item in the back. Often it’s just not out yet and they are happy to get it for you. But what makes me sad is the types of food you purchase in a week. To each their own, I know! I don’t want to judge or be critical. You would spend less money with healthy options in most cases. A bag of apples is much cheaper than a pack of cheese and crackers. Water is cheaper than soda....you get the idea. The other issue is overall health - you are setting you and your family up for a lifetime of health issues - diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. That leads to higher medical costs down the road. So sad. And what are your children learning about healthy eating habits? What will they eat when they grow up and start their own family? I admire your sharing and giving us a window into your world. But maybe just consider changing out a couple of things to make eating healthier. Or try it for a week and see what your family thinks. From personal experience - it’s a sad day when you find that a parent has had a heart attack and the doctor tells you it’s because of their diet. Small changes can make a big difference and may save a life. And if you save some money along the way - added bonus. Peace and love!

When we use to feed the same food to her all the time someone told me that it was pet food manufacturers who came up with the idea not to switch their food (trying to keep their customers). Our girl gets chicken and all the extras (organs, vegetable, fruits etc) one meal, beef and all the extras the next meal, turkey et al the next meal. Sometimes she gets pork and other times she gets venison. She's at an ideal weight, loves her food and her coat shines like the sun.

Wow you certainly like to live your life openly and candidly don't you. Not sure I would have the skill set to itemise everything I bought after going to do our weekly shop. Do you find it therapeutic to talk about what you have just bought? Maybe you are trying to justify yourself in some way. I know you are not the only one who makes videos about shopping, but as yet, I have not watched a video of this kind that lasts for 18 and a half minutes - is this a record I wonder? All very interesting to see how other people live, especially those who live 'over the pond' and I do admire your patience and tenacity to be able to have the stamina to go out for what was I guess at least 90 minutes minimum, get the camera out and start filming your stuff. All I want to do when I return home from shopping is to slump down in the armchair and recover for about half an hour...

Actually grocery hauls are very popular. I know, I know, the first time I watched one I thought people were crazy! Actually, my husband is from Italy and his family still lives there. They love Walmart and if you watch a bit more of my channel you will see that filming our life a bit and items from Walmart was what they loved to see from us. It made them feel they were with us a bit. They became popular and I respect my viewers because that is what they ask to watch. :) Odd as it is, yep. It is exhausting at times but all is well. I appreciate you watching and commenting. - Tammy

No need to justify yourself tammy! we love your videos. Seeing what you purchase and from where along with the deals you find helps me to shop for my family!

Maybe you don't know this yet Steve but many KZbinrs receive monetary compensation for the videos that they post from youtube directly. Not sure if Tammy does, but if she does then certainly these 18 minutes of her time were worth it! I highly doubt she is doing it to "justify" her trip to any one else.

I did not receive direct compensation for this video. Thank you Lauren. xoxoxo

This comment seemed really passive aggressive and almost hostile.. who cares why she posted it? If you aren’t into it don’t watch.

My teenager LOVES the salad kits!! When I was working some co workers would go across the street to this restaurant and get a Cesar salad ($10) and I could grab an Aldi one for $1.99

Good Morning Tammy! Buy those noodles in the Mexican Food aisle!! I love Mrs Grass soup which is basically the same thing. We add some extra noodles OR in the event we run out, just use the noodles in some chicken stock. My 27 year old son calls it "sick soup" because I grew up on it here in the midwest, and when I moved to the east coast I couldn't buy it anymore so my mom would send me boxes at a time! I used to save it for when we were sick. LOL Anyway, yes, that is where you get those extra noodles!

I know so many people who eat wonton soup when they are sick. I grew up in a TINY town and there was no Chinese food far and wide! Chicken noodle soup is my all time favorite anyway but the Noodle Soup in a box (Mrs Grass for me) was the sick soup!!
@erinnicole777 жыл бұрын
I grew up in Tinytown USA! We as well didn't have a Chinese food place anywhere semi local until maybe ten fifteen years ago. Soup never was a big sick thing in our house. It was orange or grape hi-ci (in the big metal can back in the 80's) or the juice box kind now that is either orange or grape, orange gatorade, sprite always, never 7up unless mom was icky and that's what she preferred and I think it was rice a roni some flavor that they don't make anymore but it was a lightly herb-y sauce, the pasta was teeny tiny bowties. Have tried chicken noodle soup as "sick soup" and to be kind about it only makes me sicker and more exorcist like. Tmi, sorry but it's true, doesn't matter if it's homemade or from a can. Just bad things happen when that and me get together. Love the idea for making the homemade kind, may have to try it out next time the ick tries to latch on. :)

I have mult. Aldi by me, well in my running circle. You sound close to me with the Imos dressing. Im In ILLINOIS 40min. From Stl. Aldi near a ruler store has the best milk/egg prices because they compete. We paid less then $1 a gal for milk a few months back, now $1.06 and eggs vary 36-40 cents per Doz.

That's how we roll. If people don't like it, they surely don't have to watch. I say, until someone else buys my food.. I don't care what they think.

I tried Aldi's for the first time (one just opened nearby)-not impressed. Cannot compete with Publix. Aldi's does not take coupons, no rain checks, and on your way home you better make sure you have a quarter in your pocket, not 2 dimes & a nickel to use a cart and remember to bring your shopping bags & leave them in the car. There is no bakery, no seafood department, no deli , no choices on your favorite brands. I personally drink Dunkin Donuts Coffee, which goes on sale at Publix & I stock up. Aldi's carried only 1 brand (never heard of); it was dirt cheap, tried it, and spit it out. If you are a coffee drinker, there is a big difference between brands. I wanted fresh ginger and artichokes-Aldi's had none. You also can't buy one apple; they make you buy a bag of apples? Why? Where's the shopping freedom? Do you like ice cream? No Ben & Jerry's, no Breyers, no Hagan Daas. They don't carry Fiji apples or Granny Smith-only Red delicious. I also wanted Mandarin oranges; they only had Navel Oranges-no Papayas, no fresh cherries, no raspberries. They only had strawberries & blueberries. They also don't carry Charmin TP, which we will spend a little extra as the cheap sandpaper off-brand they carry is awful. There is a difference. My wife couldn't find her goto Pantene Shampoo & Conditioner. No Claratin, no aspirin, no medication of any kind, no charcoal, no stationary section. Oh and you like to bake, forget it. No fresh heavy cream, no baking soda, no condensed milk, etc. Aside from pepper & salt, no spices whatsoever. My conclusion is this is more of a supplement to big chain grocery stores, or "goto" for cheap simple staples…pasta, canned tomato sauce, bananas, etc. If you like to cook a variety of recipes, international dishes, more involved meals, you will have to go elsewhere.

Huh, well better not watch too many of my haul videos then because Aldi is my jam. ;)
@Hamsterdam917 жыл бұрын
You summed up pretty good all the reasons why ALDI is so cheap ;) For example, having all the different brands needs more space = more costs. No advertised brands because you pay for the advertisement on leading brands. You have to bring your cart back so no staff needed to collect carts left over the parking lot... ALDI is to buy your basic groceries for a cheap price.

Wow Dude. Your Aldi must suck! We have a lot of those things at mine. I have a family of four and only spend about 60-70 dollars a week there on our groceries 😊 and I LOVE their coffee!!! ☕💙

Your Aldi has a bakery, deli, pharmacy, greeting cards, fresh flower station, and they take coupons and rain checks? Wow, your Aldi is one in a million. I'll be sure to come visit yours. Thanks for sharing that.

dunhil1. You are very opinionated about your preference for an all inclusive grocery store. Good for you that you can afford all the goodies, but many families could use the money they save at Aldis. My Aldis has many great affordable products including organic and gluten free choices and cheep staples that help our budget. I also appreciate that they pay their employees more than minimum wage.
