My favorite plaything was my sandbox. Placed on the shady lawn, the sandbox was a favorite meeting for multi-age groups. The younger were happy digging holes, making hills, and transporting piles. Gradually, these piles evolved into buildings and recognizable castles. People were made using crepe paper, leaves, flowers, and peg clothes pens.

Bc I grew up with all sisters, & we had many girl cousins that we visited often, I loved dolls, jacks & playing “house” 😁. It wasn’t until I was about 10 that I had a bike & we’d play all day in summer, blocks away from home where our parents didn’t know where we were, rode up & down dirt mounds, drank hose water & came home once it was getting dark. In a mixed crowd! 😅

I did the same. I loved riding my bike to watch construction workers with the front end loaders & other large equipment. I was so fascinated I started packing a bologna sandwich so I didn't have to go home for lunch. It felt so much safer then.

My favorite toy was my roller skates for outside and I loved the light bright or playing records on my record player for inside. Spent many hours doing all things. When I was growing up we were outside of the weather was good. Sometimes I miss those simpler times

When they opened up the tote, they got a big kick at looking at them all. We had a good laugh. They divided the barbies up and gave them to our 5 granddaughters to play with! Such memories! ❤

Wooden blocks. My uncle made us a LOT of wooden blocks when we were little in its own one of a kind red wooden crate. There must have been 150 of those blocks. We'd make towers or mazes for our hamsters to run through. Never the same setup twice!! Always so much fun :)

I loved paper dolls too! My mother would buy a bunch of the paper doll books & she kept them in a box in her closet. When it was yucky weather outside & I was bored, she would give me one of the books & I'd be good all day, punching out the dolls & cutting out the clothes. Then I d play with them for weeks until they got so worn out the bendy tabs fell off. Great fun!!!

My favorite childhood toy was a super long stuffed snake. My father's cousin Sandra helped me name him "Vile Serpent". I'd apparently hold him out and hiss when my mom took me shopping with her and made loads of people laugh. 😂

Barbies definitely #1. The glass candle holders are really cute. I love the colors! And yesterday I found the mini bakeware, so I grabbed the cookie sheet and cake pan. I was so hoping they would fit in my air fryer. But they don't 😔. (Not sure if putting metal is allowed but I wanted to give it a try)

Hi Amy, my favorite childhood toy to play with was my old fashioned metal toy cook stove and oven...it really worked I believe u had to plug it in to get hot... I can't believe looking back that ,that was actually a toy for a child. It was very dangerous cause it would get really hot...
