Al Di Meola es un guitarrista fantástico, expresivo, modernizador, original. Cuando toca solo o acompañado, siempre impone su estilo y particularidad. Eso lo hace espontáneamente, sin querer pasar por encima de nadie. Lo he escuchado en muchas actuaciones (por internet desde luego) y en todas ellas se destaca su toque. Aquí está haciendo un tango moderno; sin embargo (creo) que si tocara uno tradicional, como "La Cumparsita", lo haría con la misma maestría y originalidad. Excelente el Maestro Di Meola.

Well the Al DiMeola Ovation guitar is no longer made so I wonder if he is still playing Ovation. Ovations did not have a beautiful tone but it was crisp and clean making it the perfect guitar for His rapid fire playing. Unfortunately American made ovations gave way to cheap Asian ones that sounded terrible and this really hurt the brand Ovation dominated the 70s and 80s today they sell in very small numbers

Me encanta Piazzolla pero a su vez el mismo era bastante reaccionario y conservador con sus ideas, una contradicción que al fin y al cabo lo hace como todos mas humano, era un tipo complicado. Creo que Al Di Meola con esta versión de Libertango no quiso emular a Astor Piazzolla. Pienso que solo puso toda su creatividad y virtuosismo para hacer una versión "distinta" dandole su toque de Jazz Rock. Me molesta leer algunos comentarios diciendo barbaridades en tonos agresivos. Esta versión puede gustarte, o no, pero no se debe despreciar la calidad de los músicos y la interpretación que realizan.
