This is beautiful. My beautiful boy with his bruised heart. Lydia is one of my favorite characters. She has such a huge admiration for the strength of Alec's character that she was prepared to marry him to help him clear his family name and build a strong institute, despite his feelings for Magnus. When she saw the sincere regret in his eyes at the wedding, she showed him true friendship and loyalty by pointing him in the direction of his happiness. I wish they would have shown their friendship in later seasons because she knew his heart and fully understood what he was potentially sacrificing. For that she will forever be a queen to me.
