Neat to see Dutch Springs (in Pennsylvania, US) on that map. It has been one of the most popular diving and training quarries in the northeast region for about four decades; however, as of summer 2022 Dutch Springs has closed. The owner has retired and sold the business, and it sounds as though it will not re-open for diving.

Now that is a beautiful pice of art work and looks like it will come in handy for dive information that one can look up on the web after and get more information. Thanks

Cool video as allways...Have you done a video about dive watches? Might be a vintage scuba or tech tips. Anyway, all the best from Sweden!

You should publish a map like that, Alec, of your best dive spots in Ontario and Quebec and the Maritimes and all over Canada. Or maybe a guide book? Just a thought. Love you guys! God bless!

Look back recently on my Favourite Dive Sites Lost video. There is a big difference from 1970's to today on local diving. I may do another video on my favourite exotic locations some day. A.

@@AlecPeirceScuba_SeaHunter I live in Montreal and I did my certification in Cardinal Ontario, on the wreck of the Canastoga, with the fluke coming out of the water, over 30 years ago, I also dived in Prescott, on the wreck of the paddle wheel boat Rothesay. Cheers Alec!

Hey, Alec. I have a few questions for you. Have you and Kevin returned to discussing setting up a channel (or just including episodes) where you just tell great dive stories you have? I'm sure I could listen to those for hours. My second question deals with North Carolina diving. I think you have mentioned that you have dove our coast. I've got about 50-60 dives under my belt, advanced certification, and nitox. I don't like instabuddy-ing on dive charters because I am still a cautious diver and I don't like limiting my buddy's dive agenda. Do you ever think that quasi-solo diving is preferable to instabuddy diving? You may not be able to answer this question given the uniqueness of each diver and dive location. Thanks.
@eclockwork2 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean by "quasi-solo diving", but solo diving by a trained diver can be almost as safe as diving with a buddy. It's generally strongly recommended those interested complete a solo course. SDI/TDI offer "Solo Diver", PADI calls it "Self-Reliant Diver", et cetera. Knowing your SAC rate, and how to calculate gas consumption and remaining gas on the fly are essential for solo divers. Learning proper finning techniques, better buoyancy control, equipment redundancy, and all the other things you can learn in such a course are not only important, but will make you a much better buddy, too. Before you book any diving, just make sure the charter boat or quarry or dive operator with which you're diving allows solo diving. Good luck.

The only one who can listen to me for hours is my wife. We thought about it but I would like to use this channel and format for all my scuba experiences. I'm a believer in the buddy system Joshua, even in he's in the same ocean somewhere. You can take precautions when frequently meeting strangers on every dive: 1 - marry a diver, 2 - get a redundant pony bottle (se my video on that), 3 - check if your LDS has a buddy forum or club. Meeting someone socially even once can decide if you would dive with them. Thanks for watching and more stories from my stone age days coming. A.

@@AlecPeirceScuba_SeaHunter thanks, Alec. Good advice, as always. I actually bought a pony bottle setup based on your recommendation. I'm looking forward to the stories. Best, Josh.

Unfortunately the code isn't valid due to the message on the website. Is the code just for Canada/America, or should it also work for orders from Austria?
