I got out of the military moved to NYC to get in the music business 1986 and moved in with my brother and his family. The Aleem twins lived in the building and my brother introduced me to them. BEAUTIFUL BROTHERS....They helped me out tremendously and gave me great advice and took me under their wing as a little brother.

Leroy Burgess had a great voice and produced some great tunes in the 80's after leaving his original group, Black Ivory.

One of the most amazing experience meeting this Brother Tunde- Re Aleem was back in the 80's at his studio in Riverside NY, his sound was pre-hip hop swing.

I met Leroy in Manhattan in a Sam Ash. I was playing a keyboard I wanted to purchase and singing he complimented me on my voice. When I told him about the group Black Ivory he was a little taken back because I was young when they came out . I The Aleem brothers in Brooklyn walking with my bass on my back going to a friends studio. They looked surprised that I knew who they were. I sang this song Fine Young Tender for them. Leroy and the Aleem brothers were super cool and very humble brothers.
