I have been an English teacher for almost 10 years. I tell my students that it is very, very rare for a native speaker to laugh at mistakes a non-native speaker makes. We realize how difficult English is to learn, and most English-speakers appreciate the effort you are making when you are practicing the language. As I tell my students, don't worry about mistakes because that is how we learn, and relax and have fun.

One incident I also want to share with you all. I was in 6th standard at that time and my father's friend was also living with us( we both were living together in the same house but now my uncle is married and he shifted to other apartment ) so one day he suddenly asked me a question , how to say this in English ( main Delhi mein rehti hu)and my father was also there at that time ( they both were having conversation) and I really don't know how to translate this in English , I had no idea about it and obviously that was an embarrassing situation for me and for my father too. I know that so called uncle wanted to offend me and embarrass in front of my father and he did it. But now I have improved a lot and still working on my English speaking skills by watching your videos 😊. Thank you . Keep up the good work .

I have completed my education upto class 8th from Punjab board when i got enrolled into CBSE school everyone often used to make a distance from me... And always chased me that she is ugly she came from a small school, she didn't know how to speak English and all these things like that.... At that moment I was totally broken into pieces...but I was blessed with supportive teachers , specifically my English teacher she said 1 line to me which i want to share here.... She said: Don't take it to heart, believe in yourself and make efforts to seal their mouth with the noise of your success🏆💪❤....

How elegantly you express things!! I am spellbound to have your vidoes. People seek out excuses to make fun of ourselves. Even some teachers of our schools do this stupid things. How the educated teachers can do this shitty things, i do not know. They are academically educated but refrained from self education. I also distinctly embarrassed by my classmates at my school. I remember, I once pronounced the word 'done' as 'don'. I also know it is a matter of laughing. But they couldn’t stop myself, I continually strode ahead and trying my level best to make changes. I am fond of your videos and i regularly watch them, that helps to make changes and deliver positive energy.

One day I thought I have to strt writing in english ... And frst I felt lyk wht kinda things I have to write ...but now whneva I js wnt to write something ...nd now Im able to write 2 to 3 page... Okay...now listening...yeah ths one is my favourite... I used to listen all your videos ...and not only urs....thr are some othr channels wch I like...nd Thts how I used to listen thm abt english speaking... This is so relatable. I was born and raised in the Philippines. There is this notion that if you are fluent in english, you are intelligent and well off. After passing IELTS, etc and moving to the UK as a nurse, I have realised that English people really don't pay attention to grammar and spelling as much as we do. Of course you have to be understandable especially if working as a professional or if you are a student. But I have not met any colleagues or friends and family who have laughed at me when I did not know what to say, if my spelling were wrong or if my grammar wasn't correct. In fact most of the people I have encountered adores how amazing it is that I can speak fluent English and Filipino + 2 other regional dialects. Don't let other people discourage you or hurt your confidence when you are learning how to speak in English. Just keep on practicing and you will get there.

I can definitely relate myself to 4:38 Aleena. Some teachers back then were so mean even to 8-10 year old children. I guess it's the same way they were brought up by their teachers or parents. The only difference between us and them is that we want to change things and they did not want to. I prepared for the GMAT and the teacher I had in an institute here was so rude. Instead of building confidence he used to break the confidence level of the entire batch. I quickly signed up for an online course (Magoosh) based in the US at 1/4th of the price. Let me tell you it was the best decision of my life. I learned so much from there and the teachers were so helpful via e-mail and phone. you won't even need their help via e-mail..the course is so amazing. Teachers of India should learn something from the teachers abroad and from teachers like *Aleena* who are so passionate about teaching and helping others. The level of dedication they have towards helping students is unheard of in a country like India. Most teachers in our country don't even like to teach or don't have the patience required to be a teacher. That is why they snap if you ask them to explain something more than once. Teachers abroad are entirely different .They will literally pour their blood on you to help you explain something you do not understand without getting tired or angry. They love what they do. They love to teach.

Ma'am I must say the instances you mentioned in the video were really reflective of how much struggle you had to do to be where you are at present. I was also in the same situation as you. Until 2019, that was when I was in class 10th, I could not speak English properly. I used to stammer while doing so. Many of my friends who should have supported me, laughed at me but I am thankful to the faculty of Tagore International School Vasant Vihar from where I have done my schooling. My classes eleventh and 12th were the defining moments of my life. I met a teacher who taught me Political Science in these classes. In class 12th, she was even my class teacher besides being the subject teacher. The way she reposed her faith in me, was confident of the fact that I could make a name for myself, I was capable of it, really made a huge difference in my life. Now I am in second year, studying Political Science [HONS] at Motilal Nehru College. Among the four options given, I like all and dislike none.

Among the reading, listening, writing and speaking... Speaking part is my most favorite though I love reading and listening too now I hate writing part just because it takes time only that's why I hate no big or major reason behind it. Like take an example, I want to tell you my feelings what I want to tell you but I can't contact you personally that's why I'm writing, but I don't have any another option to do so... Now I'm gonna tell you one more thing that is this is the VERY FIRST CHANNEL WHERE I POST COMMENTS AND WRITE TOO MUCH 'COZ I KNOW MY EFFORTS are not going in vein, you read these comments and I' m improving I can see my efforts towards speaking English. That's all from my end. And I do update my daily tracker like a good student 😊😊😊

Thank you ma'am... U r doing great by facing the challenges u had faced or u r facing... The positive side of being judged by these people is that I remember what they had said to me & sometimes they correct me or I find the answers in Google... Therefore I never forget that mistake I did & on that particular day I learn something new... The main thing is we should never stop learning... 💕

Dhanshree never get demotivated on those judgements but take it as an opportunity to learn something which you got judged on. Just like no one takes an effort to learn their own mother tongue because that’s what they are surrounded with. So surround yourself with that atmosphere where you hear a lot of English. You can watch Hollywood movies with subtitles. Watch cartoons - easy language to learn fast. Talk in English with kids, they don’t judge you in a mean way. Watch English news, web series. Watch only English videos and this way English will become your thinking language. Remember any mistakes you make and try to avoid it the next time. Note down all the new vocabularies with meaning you come across and keep practicing it.
