Seeing this notification made extremely happy!! I’m glad they decided to keep valsajoïa and mix it with this new version of Icare! I don’t think Valsajoïa alone would have fit with the flying trapeze… I hope to see it by myself soon 💗

I love the original Icare and this arrangement also works so well with the act but the best part was that they broke it up into two parts like the power track by adding Valsajoïa. It really improved the trapeze version of the act in my opinion when I saw it. It didn’t just feel like a copy but more of a reimagining which is exactly what they were going for.

even though i love valsajoia i dont think it wouldve worked completely for the trapeze so i really appreciate them addding icare, the cello and accordion sound amazing

I loved Virginia Alves’ voice, but I think Cassia Raquel’s perfect for the black singer. Her singing hits the perfect balance of power and delicacy that I think fits the role of the black singer perfectly. Hearing her reminds me of some of the OG white singers like Claudine Bourdages. I’ve especially fallen in love with her “Vai Vedrai”

I absolutely agree, though I, too, love Virginia Alves' voice...it brought a high level of fierceness yet graciousness that I think fits perfectly to the Black singer's character, and the harmonies between Virigina an Irene were (often) on point and they had good chemistry: They complemented each other very well. Cassia as the Black singer is very on point.. Her voice... LOVE IT.. she brings the Black singer's character to a another new level and it reminds me of the OG black/white singers (because they alternated one another: OG Alegria singers took both roles as the Black and White Singers).

Is this really a song they created for the new show? It's not bad, but Valsajoïa is so much better, would it only be because of the lyrics, "L'ivresse de pouvoir s'envoler"!

it's kinda of a remix In the original show, Ibis would be played for the last act This time, they decided to use part of the this song and join with Valsajoia (that is also a remix of one ot the original songs from the original version, Valsapena, that used to be played in the middle of the power track act)

Valsapena (Valsajoïa) was one of the last legacy song of the nostalgic old birds (especially the yellow one at the power track) and the essence of the original show, it's a very powerful song it deserve something better.

Cassia in this recording. Virginia left the show entirely when the show was shuttered in March 2020, and that was before "Icare" was added to the show, so Cassia is the only Singer in Black to perform this song so far :)
