@@jt19933 We have Sancho, Madueke, Neto, Palmer (played there during his time in City where he scored in finals and was our best player last season playing there) as our senior options, Tyrique George is getting minutes and been decent from the academy, Estevao and Paez coming in this summer. Meanwhile, Jackson is the only player who can play as a lone striker and he's been missing chances after chances these past couple games. Guiu isn't trusted as our backup in the Prem being 19 years old this year and Nkunku is clearly not a striker. We also had a striker problem last year when Broja was our backup. So we do need a striker, either to compete directly with Jackson, or someone who will undeniably be our main man pushing Jackson into a backup role.

Good break down. No way worth paying 40 million over the odds for Gittens. If we can grab either for £50 million then that seems a fair price. I'd much prefer us spending big on a clinical striker and not signing anyone else til next season.

But doesn’t Gittens face easier defenders and keepers. That’s before you look at the shiteshow that Utd have been. At the end of the day wouldn’t Jackson put up similar 1 in 3 numbers from the left. Get a natural finisher, they were on the right track with Samu and Duran. Osimhen and Gyokeres. Jeez even DCL, Welbeck, Calum Wilson, even the West Brom CF, Josh Maya would be better for the team and points, top 4, CL, sponsorship money etc. Resale, sell on, isn’t the be all, end all. Build a team not a portfolio
