Before the beginning of the season, Baseball Reference projected Kirk would steal two bases this season. I think they use the same janky analytics that the Blue Jays use. lol

not on the score sheet. if the outfielder doesn't touch it, they rarely score it an error.

As a jaus fan that'll definitely be updated to a single and an error. That's not a triple any which way and I'm a Jays fan

@@jacquesschrap8932it’s a triple because the outfielder just told a bad route to the bad and did not make a mesh up for it to be a error

@hayden4243 didn't just take a bad route tried to make a play on the ball to make the catch but messed up horribly a.k.a an error... even a bad route is an error on a routine play like that come on be realistic.

@jacquesschrap8932 Not an error.. Fielder never touched the ball.. You have to touch the ball while committing an error for it to be recorded as an error.

It's a single plus error the most. Get your score keeping right. I would not give him a triple, even though I am a Jays fan.

probably seen about 2500 games in my life, and they just don't score that kind of play as an error in MLB. they need to see the outfielder actually touch the ball to give them an error. not saying it's fair, just the way it's typically done. no fault to the scorer.

@WaterFLamer_ The score sheer can be updated up to 7 days after the game was played. Within the next day or two it'll be changed to a single and a 2 bag error. The original commenter is correct.

Outfield fly lost in the lights (or sun) is never an error, since the average player couldn't have done any better. That's just the way the scoring rules are. If you're already crediting Kirk with a hit, then it definitely is a triple according to MLB scorekeepers. Case in point - Tapia's inside the park grand slam at Fenway a couple of years ago. That's just how these odd plays are scored.

@@jacquesschrap8932 I just today (10/26) checked baseball-reference, and they have Kirk down for a triple on the season. Did he hit another one that I didn't hear about?
