I was worried the whole time that he’d have a bad guy twist. He was my favorite too, but that’s all I could think just looking at him, idk how to explain it, but he has the face of a villain, kinda in the same way Kevin Bacon does. Just makes him that much cooler.

Alejandro is a very likeable character and a welcome addition to the franchise. Like Price, Ghost, Soap and Gaz he is a man of honour and as the campaign unfolds he earns their respect.

Alejandro was by far my favorite character through the campaign, simply because I love that hard surface accent at the same time, I do very loose voice acting myself, and i can do a convincing Mexican accent myself, but its not just that, Price refers to these guys as hard bastards and as a brit myself I agree, but to me personally, Alejandro is an Alpha Bastard and I believe im the only one who's called him that

That's because culture wise, most Spanish speaking ppl will understand that they used realistic Spanish slang during their Op. This scene conveys that Alejandro suspected that Ghost knew Spanish all along when Ghost said "Ahuevo!", thats slang for Fuck yeah or hell yeah. Any Hispanic speaker would appreciate that they took the time to authenticate the language, so that last shot of Alejandro's reaction to his spanish is the same smile everyone playing the game had

When I first saw the cover of Far Cry 3 before installing it, I thought Vaas Montenegro looked like Alejandro from CoD MWII and I expected that he would have a similar voice. While Vaas’ original actor does a good performance, he sounds more like an angry teenager than an insane, psycho pirate lord. I think the voice Mesa provides for Alejandro would be more fitting for Vaas.
