Being a victim to domestic violence I can honestly relate I went four years in an abusive relationship and felt so trapped but still not seeing outside the relationship not realizing how it was affecting me and how it would affect me in the long run. I’ve been split up now five years from that relationship and am just starting to feel completely better the healing was has felt like forever. It taught me so much and mostly to Don’t be a victim all because i love someone or hope for them to change I may not get years that damaged me back or all the happiness I lost that I could have had but where I am is so much better and I’m thankful God removed him out of my life… not everyone loves you the way you love them it’s hard to see that but it’s the truth !

My comment may sound way too extra, but I gotta say this whole film is super stellar, and I'm glad I took my time to watch and appreciate the whole video. And I'm also proud that this video provides positive messages and also dedication to all the people that ever dealt with intensive/toxic relationships/friendships, and the simple but very important things we all can learn from this content is that both self-control and mindfulness are key before we waste our time destroying our personal boundaries. And of course, be courteous, amicable and honest with each other, regardless of our intense vanities. I'm also taking this video as another personal message that I'll never forget, and that message for me was to take my time to settle myself down before I waste all of my energy upon anyone else will never mean any harm. Too many examples to name. Thank you to Ms. Safiya and her team for this concept. Most importantly, thank you for your voice. P.S. Violence will never be the answer, no matter if the chips in most relationships/friendships are down or not.

I went through domestic violence a few years back and I wish to never go back to that. I did end up having a child with him a couple years after that and yes we don’t physically fight anymore and the arguments are way less but that’s a part of me I will NEVER forget. I don’t regret my child whatsoever but him? Yeah I messed up with that part . Trauma bonds are very powerful 😢
