This was fascinating to watch. I was entirely puzzled by the foil since I'd never seen it applied to polymer clay. I presume it would have to be sealed, even though you sliced most of it away. I didn't expect it to come out the way it did. Nice work.
@AlenasClayCornerАй бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes the top should be sealed because of the foil

Your success with the foil blew me away!!! 😮 I need to try again with them as I haven’t been able to get the foil to adhere to the clay near as well as you did. Was the cloth you used to smooth it down a damp wipe? Just wondering because I haven’t used one before on foil. The beads are beautiful❣️The whole necklace design is simply awesome, thank you for sharing- love your videos 🤎💛🖤🧡
@AlenasClayCornerАй бұрын
Thank you 🌹 I used a normal napkin, the trick is... the clay must be very well conditioned, so the foil can stick to it.
@BlackOnyxCatАй бұрын
@@AlenasClayCorner Thank you for this tip, I will definitely try again now!!!

Yes please, try it again. I also try to heat it up by rubbing the foil on top of the clay, it also helps😉😊

Absolutely gorgeous. I have always wished to make jewellry like this. I've just no patience honestly....nor talent. ✌️
@cynthiakammann7368Ай бұрын
Patience is also not my forté. But honestly, I find myself so engrossed with the process that staying focused is easy. The time flys by. It does take some practice, but even the not so great work is great. It just gets better the more you do it. There are so many great tutorials online, such as this one, that you don't need to design your own. I'm looking forward to trying this design. I didn't have the same roller, so already mine will be different. Really, if you are drawn to it, give it a try! I'm wondering how it might work as a bracelet. 😂

Love the technique, and hoping you could share some of the products you used. The gloss varnish brand and the bead bases - where do you get them, or did you make them?
@AlenasClayCornerАй бұрын
Thank you 🙂 I mostly don't write which gloss varnish I use because there are several good ones, and people should try and find the best for themselves (I use fimo) Bead blanks, yes, I make them myself and sell them too.
@sweetpealee056Ай бұрын
I have a question about the foil... Is it heat sensitive? By that, i mean, will it hold its color after baking? And which foils can one get specifically that will handle heat?
@AlenasClayCornerАй бұрын
Unfortunately, the metallic foil fades from the temperature, I think gold leaf withstands heating better and remains as it is.
@Lyn4817Ай бұрын
I am curious, did you make your bead blanks on a 3D printer? I love the finished beads.
