Beautiful work! Found this vid via Facebook, searching for Micron group. Really nice patches you’ve made! I just picked up a Micron today for the equivalent of $130 USD, stoked. Regretted not buying one years ago when I worked in a music store. Now I finally have one. :) Sub’d.

Oh, I see in channel description you have a JV-1010 with SR-JV80 02 Orchestral…. So do I :) love Warm Strings on that card. I used to have a K2661 too, wish I’d kept it.

Thank you very much :) and yeah, wow, sounds like we’re into the same stuff! The JV has some excellent sounds for a 90’s rompler, I love the Harpsichord from the Orchestral Board and the choirs from the session board, and yeah Kurzweil K2661 is a beast - my absolute all time favourite digital synth along with the Roland V-Synth

Love the sounds you have managed to produce here … and in your other videos.👍👏 … Can I suggest when you have time … maybe a series of tutorial videos showing Micron owners how you step-by-step … deep dive into editing different qualities into any sound template? … with an overview camera angle like this … so button presses are explained and demonstrated as to the effect. Topics that might be popular would be creating: atmospheric ambience/echo/reverb and other effects ~ beefing up basses ~ weirdness knob assignment ~ industrial noises etc. Hope this suggestion helps boost your subscription numbers.

Thank you very much :) that’s something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time, do some tutorials on sound design and setup creation, I just need a decent microphone :P I’ve been looking recently so keep an eye out as there may be some tuts coming soon :)

I wouldn’t sell it. For what they sell for, they’re a bargain. Triple OSC 8 note poly multi filter synths with patterns and arps and setup/multi’s, external audio processing, effects… you can’t get something else like that for what these sell for. I think they can only go up in value over time.

This is great work; I'm a big fan of the Ion/Micron synth engine. Really powerful and lot's of potential given the FM synthesis, and filter options. Are you making these patches with a programmer or or are you just raw dogging the encoders and menu diving?

Thank you! I’m a huge fan too, got two microns and love em :) I just change parameters on the micron, it’s actually not too bad, I only use software editors for my racks (X5DR and JV1010)

My Micron has an intermittent high-pitched noise that usually goes away if I fiddle with the master volume knob - have you ever encountered that, and if so do you know a fix?

It’s a pretty common issue, I reckon about 75% of users experience it. It’s the electrical contacts, you’ll need to change your volume potentiometer, thankfully the micron is pretty easy to disassemble:)

i think im the only person that ever bought the Akai Miniak when it came out.. do you know if the same patches are able to be used on it as the ion or micron? the sound design on that sitar-ish patch you play is incredible btw

Thank you so much :) the Miniak is the exact same as the Micron, however the ion is missing some effects (such as reverbs) which are pretty important in some of my sounds, especially in the “Orchestral Strings” patches from my latest video
