Nice video! Please, can you tell me if I can record my bass myself with a pattern? I mean, it could be a preset pattern copy to a new composer pattern, and a all new composer pattern made by me, of course? I hade two Alesis-HR 16, but they finish their mission from 1990 until 2023, and I'm about to but this Sr 18. Thank you very much.

At 20:24 preset 47-A (what a coincidence), there's a slight bend of the bass note as you would on a regular stringed instrument. On my SR18, i've checked all tracks seperately: Bass, Perc, Drums. But i cant seem to find any way to bend notes. The manual mentions it in "midi implementation", but there's no evidence that you can actually do a vibrato or sliding kind of sounds on the bass. Any ideas? Thank you for the video. 👍

It's strange that even after all these years drum machines still have a fixation for samba/rhubarb/tango etc. Who plays that stuff ? What about all the classic rock/pop patterns ? Led Zep, Joy Division, Beatles, Stones, Kinks etc. And that bass is just so midi. Thanks for posting though. I will have to take my GAS elsewhere it seems.

The bass does suck on the SR18, I own one and NEVER use the bass feature.

You’d be surprised how many South Americans use them in bands and performances. Since they’re made for an international market, not everything is geared to the American Rock market. Same when people ask why there’s so many ethnic instruments on synthesisers instead of all the pianos and organs
