She used to get a ton of attention when she first came out, even won a grammy for Best New Artist but that was only because she spoke mostly from a teen perspective since she didn't write as a teen. It also has to do with her doing less features and using less pop elements. Now it's mostly her growing up where she uses well idk I'll say alternative pop and r&b with a hint of blue-eyed soul? You hear alot of John Mayer & of course Amy Winehouse influences and i guess most of the fans just couldn't relate or didn't appeal as much anymore idk. There's also the promotion thing. Her sophomore album was great and got radioplay but the promotion and songs came out way too fast. No time to let the songs sink in before the next single was released. Eh with all that said the fans that have been here since day one watching her covers and or when "Here" debuted just will always enjoy her music no matter how different it sounds. Eh artists develop & evolve.

Let’s get one thing straight: She’s easily the most underrated and slept on singer of this generation. Coming from someone who’s very much a rap fan and rarely ever listens to pop music, let alone any modern day pop music, I don’t think she’s ever dropped a bad song. Literally all her albums are underrated and borderline bangers you play when the homies aren’t around (if you’re a dude like me), 2021 literally proved she’s still one of the best in the game, the two songs were really nice, but somehow gets dismissed for the same generic bullshit you hear literally every other singer do. Honestly, it’s flat out lunacy. When you maintain a level that won you a Grammy and you’re not getting the praise or hype you deserve, it goes to show how ass-backwards music society is today. Hopefully this new project puts her back on the map. It’s gonna be crazy.
