Well Lucky, 1st of all I love the way you sound on Scars and WildThings!!! I’m happy you said those got you to where you are now. You resonate, not only because you are as gifted and talented as you are but because you are completely authentic!!! Also when you are complimented (and it is genuine, you know how fake people can be) allow that moment of appreciation and acceptance, I know you are gracious so not trying to imply any sort of callousness. In those moments allow gratitude to shine to override the awkward discomfort. I personally don’t think true fans feel obligated to pander to ego and when they complement you it, in many ways is of appreciation for you!!! Also, in thinking about how the industry has evolved and changed AND you are as creative as you are, you could always release a new song here or there that wasn’t part of an album’s vibe, just to do something different and not based on conceding to wants or demands for new material. Be as “difficult” (I don’t really see it as that, more along the lines of being particular to me) as necessary when putting your stamp on something!!! Pretty sure you’ve already learned that lesson nothing to apologize for getting done what you need done, you are the master of your craft and that’s supposed to shine through!!! And in terms of restlessness and sleep, hopefully you have a coffee cut off time as well as a power down device screen time, those screens prohibit melatonin production so that may have something to do with it too.
