The Warning opened for the Foo Fighters (one of their last concerts before Taylor Hawkins passed away) last March in Mexico City. This video was shot at the concert. The song is called Money: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJ6aaX6metxmq9k

The Warning is the next legit super group I say that having seen them live. The wall of sound they put out is amazing. They hit the stage at energy level 11 and go up from there. Simply amazing band.

And Alessia is a Canadian Pop and R B singer. This song was arranged and did it In only 7 days to the deadline date to be released while the warning were in Mexico and Alessia in canada (all made via zoom calls and such as that ) the video was shoot in a burnt down textile factory in Their hometown of Monterrey

Enjoyed your reaction! Metallica originally wrote this as a lullaby then subsequently rockified it in the original form. The Warning remade it into a creepy lullaby. One of the few artists on the Blacklist album to take this much risk , and it paid off. 👍😎

I love this version, totally redone. For the Metallica Blacklist album with 53 artist doing their own rendition of a song from the Black Album the question was asked to Alessia Cara if she wanted to contribute on the album and she is on the same agency as TW and someone suggested to Alessia Cara a cooperation with TW. The rest is history as they say. From Metallica’s point of view in an interview with Rolling Stone “We said, ‘Pick a song. Do what you want with it. If u are not familiar with the warning, see their cover of enter sandman from 2014 when they were ages 9, 12 & ,14. They are 17, 20 & 22 now & touring the U.S. Great live band. Excellent songwriters. U should see the drummer sing ("dust to dust" live at lunario cdmx). This version of enter sandman is the only cover they do since they were about 11, 13 & 15 except for a cover of metallica's atlas rise at the end of a whiskey a go go show a couple of years back.

Metallica asked 53 artist from different genres to put a twist on their songs from The Black Álbum For the 30th anniversary of it so Alessia was approached by them and Alessia's international management is the same agency as the warning so the agent suggested the Collab Bc the warning is a fan and hard rock band and could be epic ...as you can see it turns out to be a GREAT reimagination of an old classic song with a fresh air twisted in it

Interesting fact is that The warning went viral in 2014 with a note by note copy of this song too...they were 14-12-9 at that time now they are 22-20-17 (guitar-drumms-bass respectively) Daniela, Paulina and Alejandra are their names btw

The Warning got notice when the cover Enter Sandman in 2014 when they were the ages of 9, 12 and 14 years old, that video went viral with close to 24 million views... check it out....

They slowed the tempo lending it a creepy vibe. I think they did exactly what Metallica wanted for the tribute album and then they added the homage to the original at the very end. You'll likely hear this from others as well, but they accomplished all of this in a week, soup to nuts. And they collaborated with Alessia remotely (she was in Canada and they were in Mexico with their recording engineer - and believe he is same engineer who worked on their Error album). I guess Metallica liked this one as it is the first song on the album.

7 days. The Warning had 7 days to break down and rearrange an epic anthem to allow Alessia’s soft, pop voice along with their own rock vibe and record. When you mention they had to be careful that is so true. It was a project with huge risk which in the end is an absolute re-masterpiece. You should hear them play it live. Slight differences because Alessia isn’t touring with them.

Yeah, I watch youtube and have heard bands try and change a song to their own and some do it justice while others well just don't. This just had me enthralled with how they would handle the next verse or ending. Just a work of art!

Yeah, some still don't get what the difference beetween a cover and a version is. That is why I took the TW version over the one made by, let say, Ghost, which is a note by note cover of this song and is also inclued in the BL album.

"Alessia". You said it correctly the first time. I have heard so many variations of mispronouncing of her name (including Alicia). Same with bassist Alejandra (Ale), from Alexandra to Al! :D

Now you need to explore some of The Warning's original stuff - 'Evolve', 'Disciple', and 'Error' would be a good start. And their _Queen of the Murder Scene_ is a concept album that traces the descent of a girl from love to obsession, stalking, murder, and then the battle against her evil side for her soul (and more murders). Written, amazingly, when they were mid-teens at the oldest.

The Three sisters (Dany Pau and ale) can sing lead but only Dany 65% and Pau 35% do it frequently while Ale is occupied in backing vocals or choruses

The Warning put out a concept album "Queen of the Murder Scene" when Dany was 17, Pau was 15, and Ale was 12. A complex theme and story conceived, written, composed, and performed by them. It's amazing.

This was for the Metallica Blacklist album. The 30th anniversary of The Black album. 53 artists of all different genres were asked by Metallica to not cover, but reimagine in their own way, their favorite track from the Black album. This was The Warning's take. And to make the deadline, they did this in ONE WEEK!

Hope you see this. The Warning are known, in my view, of making covers better than the originals. Not always (Back in Black and We're Not Going To Take it for example), but they did a cover of Muse's Resistance that was exceptionally well done, they did a live cover of Foo Fighter's Everlong which I think is amazing. At the same concert they did a cover of Ozzy's Crazy Train with Dany having to deal with a mike stand problem for a large part of the beginning and she, and her sisters, handled it so professionally at the ages 10, 13, and 15 you would think they were seasoned professionals. Those performances really made me admire them.

For as much as I love Metallica, after all it was The Warnings cover of this song back in 2014 that got me interested in them to begin with, I still definitely like this rendition far more than the original. They took James Hetfields original idea of this song as being a “lullaby” for his son and created a far more Surreal….. Darker….. Creepier….. Haunting, almost horror movie feel of a song with a powerful ending that gives homage to the original, what a touch of class. And Dany’s high note leading into the ending is EPIC! They absolutely killed it! The more we hear from The Warning, the more I come to believe it is literally impossible for the sisters to put out anything subpar! And, this collaboration with Alissa Cara, who by the way is a Grammy award winning Canadian pop star with millions of followers was a perfect melding of pop and rock. Yet In my opinion, it is absolutely The Warning who bring the “hit factor” to this recreation of an iconic song. What a Bold Statement! But, I honestly did not expect anything less. It would not surprise me if this song/video were to receive a nomination for a Grammy award. Again, they killed it! LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS aka THE WARNING!

Hey JTMM, Was not sure if this was your first time with The Warning. IMO this was a great rendition and to incorporate a Grammy award winning pop singer it was always going to be a challenge but hey!! They knocked it out the park in less than a week to meet the Metallica deadline. Alessia was in Canada, The Warning was in Mexico and the whole collaboration was done via zoom. The beginning of the song was a little poppy but when Dany was restored to full vocals the song began to rock. The beautiful harmonies, the build up was all well done. Check out Evolve by The Warning and Choke, Animosity, Dust to Dust and Dull Knives to get a real sound of The Warning. Thanks for your reaction. 🤟

Evidently Metallica liked it enough to place it as the first cut of The 30th Anniversary Black Album. They were impressed as well with the true cover of the song released in 2014. All of their early covers have been just that, Covers. They made this remake their own.

Welcome to the wonderful world of The Warning. Hopefully you'll be looking up some more of their original music now. To start off with I would humbly suggest Evolve, Disciple, and Choke are great ones to start off with that will leave you wanting more. They have about 50 original songs and I have yet to hear a single one that I would even consider mediocre. Hope you enjoy this journey as much as I am and if you get a chance to see them live DO NOT pass it up - they're amazing live.

I'm about to make some people mad, but this just my opinion. This is the only song TW does where their live onstage version just doesn't come close to the quality of the studio recording. I am betting that after the end of the year we will have heard the last of it.
