I am always pleased to watch the destruction of the openings I hate : Philidor, London. ( and I hate them because I don't feel confortable facing them. ) However, watching those videos feels like watching kids being harassed, a little bit. This is kind of violent, in a way ( I am not saying this too seriously ). By the way, I was a bit shocked to see the last game. The opponent played some non principaled moves there ! Thank you for your work and your time, Alessia. Please don't mind my critical views too much. Matthieu

So funny you go as "... the Grob". Your favourite opening is named after Swiss master Henry Grob. In his home country his surname means "rough". Watching your charming and elegant presentations the adjective "rough" doesn't come to mind at all...🙃😉😉🤣🤣🤣

Assuming I understand your suggestion (my Italian is very basic), I don't think it works. After Bf4 (pinning the knight to the queen) and Bxf2+, white can play Qxf2 (instead of Kxf2). Then if black still played the fork Nd3 (at this point, Rf6 is probably better but still insufficient), they would be doing so without the benefit of a check. This leaves black exposed to Bxc7, Nxf2, Kxf2, leaving them down 2 pieces, as far as I can determine. (Apologies if I misunderstood and am commenting on something you didn't actually say.)

Thanks heavens someone else can't stand the London system. Thought I was the only one! So many club players and wannabees are trying to copy the London system (which is similar to the reversed Caro-Kann for white - advanced variation/line). Reminds me of the Veresov-Richter set up, which seems a little better than the London. Granted the London system is a little better than the Colle system which is passive on a good day. Eight pawns, sixteen possible opening pawn moves (Realistically 3 main pawn openings 1.e4, 1.d4 and 1.c4) not including the 1.Nf3 Reti and perhaps 1.Nc3 which is a bit non committal and sub optimal. All the patzers trying to play the London system because they watched a few videos on youtube. It does help if you play an opening several hundred times if not thousands before one can claim to be an expert in it. Of course some Super GM will play another trendy opening and the London system will fall out of fashion very soon. Brilliant video Alessia. Grazie

Game 3: Isn't that called like a Semi-Slav defense with the black pawn pyramid? Also, at 17:34 maybe the threat is just e6 (threatening Qf7#) and after Ne5 (defending the f7 square) maybe White has something like Re1 (doesn't matter which Rook) preparing to sacrifice *THE ROOK!!!* for the Knight to proceed with the checkmate again? So the line is Qxf2, e6, Ne5, Rhd1 and how does Black defend? Now I see Rh6 (threatening the Queen) but after e7+, Kxe7, Rxe5+!, forcing fxe5 but then Qxg7+, forking the King and the Rook, winning it. So, in the end, Qxf2, e6, Ne5, Rhd1, Rh6, e7+, Kxe7, Rxe5+, fxe5, Qxg7+, Kd8, Qxh6 I guess White is up a pawn, I don't know, brain hurt🥲 Also, don't worry about the screams. My ears are _definitely_ not bleeding right now
@RandomGuy-je5os

Ne5 would attack the queen also so that means that Rhd1 is not possible. I have no idea what the move actually is tho
