10M never went away. I still have my 1952 model with Berg metal 130/0, Runyon metal Quantum 9* and Guy Hawkins metal 10.

The band "Irio de Paula trio" with Sal Nistico. The drummer Afonso Alcantara Vieira is not mentioned... why?

No idea, he sounds great here though! And on the Horo record they recorded together also, basically it was Irio de Paula's regular working group. Great musicians, Italy has had some great jazz musicians over the years (Irio de Paula is from Brazil originally...The bass player is laying it down too!

1975, same year as the trio record with Sal on it on Horo Records.

per dovere di cronaca: il gruppo era Di Irio De Paula e non è nemmeno menzionato Afonso Vieira... Il titolo dovebbe essere Irio de Paula con Sal Nistico

It's not hard to hear the pre-A&M records, Gato Barbieri influence here (before he drank the Herb Albert Kool aide). I'm not sure that Sal's focus on Latin music helped his career with jazz traditionalists, but he loved playing with Tito Puente and was always pushing his sound/style in different directions. People who know him only for his Woody Herman big band/Sister Sadie days have overlooked the best of Sal's career.
