Aleutian Airways Saab 2000 Landing in Dutch Harbor

Cool video! I've only flown on a SAAB 2000 once on PenAir when they were still around.

Thank you, and I miss Pen Air. They did a great job. Aleutian Airways actually bought the old Saabs and hired the old Pen Air pilots that have experience coming out here, and we once again have reliable service to Unalaska/Dutch Harbor. They have landed when it seemed impossible.

i have a curious question, is Aleutian airways a reborn version of the old and defunct Alaskan domestic airline Reeve Aleutian Airways? And i am asking because i am also interested to use this airline to dutch harbor for recreational fishing getaways. Greetings from New York

Aleutian Airways is actually a reborn version of Peninsula Airways (Pen Air). They went bankrupt in 2017 and sold the company to Ravn Alaska, which also went bankrupt in 2020. Ravn sold their Saabs to what is now Aleutian Airways, which started in November 2022, and they sold their Dash-8s to a Los Angeles based airline that they renamed Ravn (so effectively the only difference with Ravn after 2020 is the leadership). I would highly recommend Aleutian Airways, because they are fast and reliable for getting from Anchorage to Dutch Harbor/Unalaska.
