Alex G is like a successful version of so many people who used to just fuck around and make music with friends as kids. I think that's why I like him so much, at it's core it's just weird shit that sounds good for sorta unexplainable reasons.

It's kind of absurd how consistently good the music he makes is. A mediocre Alex G song is at the very least original and interesting and better than a hell of a lot other sort of indie rock out there. That's the absolute minority of his stuff, most of is, is just incredible and weird and catchy.

i don’t remember how i found alex g, but i remember trick and race having such profound impacts on my life in an absurdly positive way. i hope he feels the impact he’s had on people, and knows it’s been positive. i appreciate this man’s artistic ability and humanness, and i’m surprised i hadn’t seen this documentary before!! i’ve seen him twice now in concert and it’s cool seeing him admit him just being some dude. it’s easy to get caught up in celebrity and obviously i don’t know him, but he seems like a really down to earth guy.

I had this friend who listened to Alex G years before he exploded in popularity. He liked like a lot of newer indie pop groups-a sound that I had grown out of when he told me to check out Alex’s songs, so I refused, thinking AG was just another boring copy of a copy. I slept on it for years when one day I finally decided to listen to his music on my own accord. I was blown away. Now he’s one of my favorite artists of all time. Feels like a blessing to live in this lifetime where he’s still making music and performing.
