I love how Steve Davis always has good words on Alex ,even though they hated each other back in the day .

The Man who made Snooker popular to the masses. Without him it wouldn't be the massive success that it has been and continues to be so.

Snooker sucks it's boring as hell unless someone like Alex Higgins is playing obviously it's funny how all the rest of those guys look like turds

The Hurricane brought snooker to the masses and then the corporation it became because of him, slowly excluded him from the game as he struggled with the trappings that came with stardom. The ultimate sporting paradox. RIP Higgy The Peoples' Champion to the end!!

The story of the most gifted snooker player ever but also someone who simply could never accept any responsibility. A very sad tale.

Nah,Ronnie is the most gifted but for the first maverick it was Alex…

Fair play to jimmy white for sticking by Alex till the end ,even though the hurricane by then had blown out 😢

He fxxxxx up White in the WC IN 92,turned up when White was 14/10 up and got him pissed,should have left another addict alone and thought of his friend rather than trying to steal his glory thinking White had it won…

None of the top players in the game would be there today if it wasn't for Alex.yet Ronnie o sullivan,Steve davis, many more couldn't be arsed to make it to his funeral. Including louie copeland the famous tailor to the stars.who Alex thought was his friend little did he know.as well as many more people. Fact.

Think he’d burned those bridges long before that they’d all moved on dude…

Read his book,and to be honest he sounds like a real begrudging narcissist,if he had more basic manners he could’ve been in the Matchroom Mob but he couldn’t just behave like a decent human being… It’s not difficult ffs…
@koenhughes92676 ай бұрын
"The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about."- Oscar Wilde His behavior brought a nation wide audience to snooker and the Matchroom cashed in on his persona and left him out to dry. If you have read his autobiography as I have, you'll know he never received his prize money for the 1989 Irish Masters which was the last tournament he ever won after 17 years of being a professional, that's gratitude for you.
