+billsf94131 Well if you assume the religious story of the Bible is somehow true, then I'd say the Bible is the Satanic Manifesto. The Devil basically used his establishment to hijack the peoples liberation theology of love, peace and free will of your own Godgiven conscience. Nailed their Messiah to the cross, painted him white and used him as an ironic symbol for the ideology that enslaved the people mentally to be told the difference from right and wrong, rather than figure it out for themselves. And then they go and murder everyone who dares to think for themselves and slaughter those that believe in other religions in between sessions of systematically raping children. So it's very plausible the Devil is pretending to be God. All of this is metaphorically tho, I don't LITERALLY believe it :p

+iluvmaryam Hi, good point you make, I'm an Atheist too, for arguments sake though and as you say, if it is all true and they both exist, as lesser mortals, we would have no way of being able to tell them apart because they could both deceive us, they could both mess with our minds and they could both overpower us so it would be totally unfair of the good one to expect us to be able to work out which one we are supposed to believe in and know when we are being confused by the other one. Yet, according to the Bible, if we get it wrong we burn forever and ever for making that mistake and that would be the good ones judgement, which in fact calls into question whether he is good at all, you also have to wonder how a good almighty being could justify drowning innocent babies, children and many harmless animals just because of what the adults were doing. But of course, according to Genesis, this is precisely what this God did as I'm sure you'll know and again as you'll probably know yourself, there are so many things in the Bible that this God was supposed to have done or condoned that are at best morally questionable at worst horrific, this is why even if I am wrong and this God exists, I have to ask myself, would I really want to know this God?, would I really want to spend an eternity worshiping such a being?.....ermmmmmm.......well, all I can say is this God would have to explain a few things and the explanation would have to be beyond good to justify the seemingly unjustifiable, many thanks.

Read the His Dark Materials trilogy. Starts with The Golden Compass, which you may have heard of. Thats the basic premise, that satan imprisoned god and took over and thats why reality is so fucked up. So the protagonists team up with angels to kill God. Is good read
