He knows the notes, but, blues is not about how fast you play, it's about what you don't play, too. The time of silence in between the phrasing. Pause bro, pause too.

A talent musician w solid chops, but he may want to have a better command of how to build a solo. He starts out flaring away and it gives nothing for the crescendo. Hes got the talent, let's see if he matures.
@jasonpayne39375 жыл бұрын
Matthew Horizon ..... I tried to find a video of you playing… But I was unable to find any of your work. Where can I see some of your mature player work that you speak of in your comment?

Matthew Horizon you are a complete bell end . Fact !
@johnbuell80355 жыл бұрын
Matthew Horizon - you’re absolutely right. The village idiots always totter into the picture when someone tells the truth about their crush. You can’t have any sensible interaction with people who are musically ignorant.

VERY NICE JEFF BECK - LIKE NUTHIN' BUT THE BLUES ! - JOHNNY WINTER
@kkjhn415 жыл бұрын
Really? Jeff knows how to let the music breathe, this kid tries to overwhelm it. It takes time and experience to know what notes to leave out. Someone should take him aside and sit him down with some Miles Davis and Frank Sinatra recordings to learn about phrasing.

Very talented, but as guitarists we struggle to feel the blues. It’s as much about leaving space as it is what we play. He should be in a metal band imo.

Put the guitar down and turn off the amp, now go listen to BB KIng Live in Cook Co Jail. That's the blues, it's not speed blues.

@harleyspringer70345 жыл бұрын
And what, exactly, are YOU? I'll find your tunes where??
@ConnorJMC415 жыл бұрын
Talented. But needs to work out his own sound. You’re not fooling anyone with the SRV tube screamer tone. And don’t start the solo on such a ripping high tone. Good vocals!
@johnbuell80355 жыл бұрын
A bit harsh. Doesn’t sound much like SRV to me. And SRV didn’t invent the tube screamer, if that’s what’s being used. This isn’t a bad tone - at least it’s not so mega distorted that you can’t hear any notes.
@duffers295 жыл бұрын
Connor J. Mc I believe he can perform the way he wants to ! Get a grip
@Torino20065 жыл бұрын
I enjoyed everything he was playing a lot more before he used the tube screamer.
@johnbuell80355 жыл бұрын
Torino2006 are you saying he turned on a tube screamer somewhere during the tune? I only heard the first bit. Started out OK, but I can’t listen to all of it - too much widdling, too many notes and too much forced drama. I just want to hear someone settle back into a groove and play some tasty stuff. Sick to death of widdle-fest speed competitions.
@rossvaneldik35625 жыл бұрын
@Conner J. Mc Everyone's a critic eh? He's talented but...he's great but...I really like him but...good vocals but...and on and on with the buts. Also, why is it when someone hears a guy play blues on a strat with a good tone, does SRV come up? You're not fooling anyone with your self proclaimed knowledge of blues guitar.
@freejoco5 жыл бұрын
Great,but too much of the guitar
@Wagiblues4 жыл бұрын
same to me - great player and singer - sometimes too many notes - like Mozart - if you know what i mean
@markrodgers29765 жыл бұрын
I agree with many other comments, sure, the guy can play, but he needs to get over his fantasy about being Yngwie Ray Vaughan, and learn The Blues.
