Rush were amazing, everyone talked about how great Geddy and Neil were but I always thought Alex never got the plaudits he deserved. His name can be spoken in the same sentence as Page,Blackmore,Iommi, Clapton et al with ease. His soloing, riffing and creativity are second to none.

I bought Permanent Waves the day it came out when I was 12 (WPLJ in New York City had previewed The Spirit of Radio a few times the week before its release) and never looked back. I already had music theory and a good ear from piano, and then my cousin taught me how to learn songs by ear, and I literally taught myself the guitar to Rush and Black Sabbath albums, then later Led Zeppelin & Iron Maiden. My first Rush show was at Madison Square Garden, Moving Pictures tour on May 18, 1981, and I’ve seen every tour since (26 shows altogether). I had the privilege to see Rush front row center once. He was right in front of me blowing my mind. I yelled “Go Alex!” He looked at me, and with the body language of a blushing little girl said “Who…me?” Truly an artist with an extraordinary sense of humor. Also, one of the only guitarists who can give me chills with a solo. Living Legend.

Alex is one of the most original guitarists in history. Plays from the heart, has technique and skill, but such a high emotional component. He could play dental floss and make it sound damn good.

I love him so much. Proof positive that you can be a powerhouse in the music industry and still maintain humility and class. Such an inspiration for my kid (he's gonna be famous some day).

Amazing amazing guitar Alex!!! I got mine a week or so ago and simply cannot put it down. Amazing that you can get so many of RUSH tones out of it. Plus, it's really good at pretty much any type of music. I was so amazed at all the sounds it's capable of that I did a video of the tones I could get out of it. Click my head to the left to check it out but I have to say this Epiphone is easily as nice as my Gibsons AND it stays in tune as good or better than any PRS, Fender, Jackson, Strandberg, etc that I've ever owned or played. Thanks again Alex for bringing a tool like this to the masses!

Loved it! Alex is great as always, such a down to earth guy. Mitch knew his stuff and did a great job of asking a question then getting out of the way...
