I love this music-fantastic, intelligent, tasteful, and virtuosic playing by all three. I was just reflecting on the fact that Jeff Sipe, has played amazingly with many of the greatest guitarists in the world! Mike Seal is incredible, as is Jimmy Herring, and obviously Alex, and the great John McLaughlin, and the unreal Shawn Lane! Just an amazing career, well deserved, since Jeff is one of the greatest himself!

Alex and Allan were very close friends. An awful lot of ale got consumed whenever they were together. It was a real shame Alex couldn't join us for the Tribute concert (he was touring Europe).

Alex Machacek es el primer músico del mundo que ha conseguido romper el círculo de culto a la guitarra y hacer algo nunca antes hecho en la música. Lo que hace es absolutamente suyo. Ya no está atrapado en esta prisión de trituradores de jazz/rock con todos los demás. Alex es único. Alex me recuerda a estar en un remake de la película con Pink Floyd. Donde los niños empiezan a cantar: "Al fin y al cabo, no eres más que otro ladrillo en la pared". Pero, a diferencia de la película original, Alex se acerca a la pared y, por arte de magia, empieza a picar la argamasa con una mano y a sacar los ladrillos. La pared tiene un gran agujero por el que Alex pasa al otro lado. Entonces, dice: "Yo no".

If Alex Machacek is finally uncovered, I think that most of the audience and guitarists will migrate to his mostly schizofrenic style in detriment to conventional, near empty ways of playing. This guy is the Kafka equivalent. Once you are on the track, the Castle is always elusive!!!
