Alex Murdaugh broke down in tears while his former best friend, Chris Wilson, testified in the disgraced lawyer's family murder trial Thursday. Wilson appeared emotional while detailing the moment he learned Maggie and Paul Murdaugh were shot to death. Wilson then went on to explain how the murders distracted him from receiving repayment of settlement money from his once-trusted friend and colleague.

This is an example of how sin will take you further than you wanted to go. He was in so deep. The boating accident was the beginning of the end. I believe his family would be alive had it not been for the boating accident. It is possible that he grieves for them and that he regrets his actions, but his jail house calls indicate otherwise. He doesn’t bring either of them up in conversation, and lacks any signs of grief. So this rocking and putting his head down doesn’t convince me. It doesn’t seem real. I would be grieving so hard, and I would be angry. Angry enough to have somebody looking for a killer. A private investigator for sure.

This case is reminding me of the actor Robert Blake's case, accused of shooting his wife. He was acquitted because the state couldn't prove he held the murder weapon, and, like this case, there were rumors that he'd hired it out. But the charge was first degree murder, and he ended up walking, but then later losing the civil case.

Narcissists are the hardest to treat and Alex is one. They justify all of their actions that no matter what they deserve the best, the advantages and hardest of all forgiveness for whatever selfish acts or statements they make. History is full of them, we are just finding them earlier now. But, they must be found accountable no matter how high they climb in life. I think he is sorry people can’t see he did what he had to do to protect the most important person in his life, himself.

I have always wondered how narcissists came to be. What happened to him? He had it all and decided to destroy his own life. Do narcissists really love themselves above God and familily and friends - or do they really despise themselves? Pride and self-loathing seem to be related.

I am so angry that this man traumatized a whole community, his family, his quality friends, and the defenseless dogs trusted to their care.
