Allah guides those who WANT to be guided. Alex was thinking about faith for so long and respected the Islamic view of Jesus and One God for so long. Alex for so long tried to understand the fiqh and how Muslims apply it and looked at faith God, laws and application for so long. He would see Muslim hypocrites and this would hold him back but on scripture he was assured. Alhamdulillah through all his soul searching and conviction Allah brought him out of darkness to the light as this humble sincere lovely brother accepted Deen Al Islam. Truly great soul saved who will be a light for Islam and his character is exemplary and conviction strong.

Allah says in the Qur'an (7:156) "My punishment - I afflict with it whom I will, but My mercy encompasses all things." So I will decree it [especially] for those who fear Me and give zakah and those who believe in Our verses" So it's not anyone that Allah shows mercy to, there are certain characteristics you must possess or have to be deserving of that mercy! It's not by chance or luck or lottery, no! Ultimately we're all sinners in need of Allah's mercy, but the one who's always striving to obey and please Allah and does his utmost to keep away from all that Allah prohibited and all that is displeasing to Him (but still falls short as we all do) while feeling so regretful, he of course will be shown mercy by the most Merciful. As for The one who doesn't make much effort to obey Allah and falls into all kinds of sins without feeling any guilt or regret and just foolishly or wishfully relies on the 'mercy' of Allah, this person is just a deluded fool who is indeed taking the mick!

I have a question for you my friend: Did Jesus PBUH die for the sin of disbelieving in his (alleged) sacrificial death? If so, then no need to believe. If not, then how are we saved? Is it through repentance from disbelief? But if repentance is enough for God to forgive us of "the greatest sin" one could commit, then what is the need for a sacrifice when it comes to smaller sins? In other words, do you believe that rejecting truth is a sin? And do you believe that the Christian teaching of the sacrifice is truth? If so, then how does the Christian God forgive this sin of rejecting the truth by a non-Christian who then accepts Christianity? If repentance is enough for the Christian God to forgive us of the greatest sin that one could commit (i.e rejecting the truth of his sacrifice), then what is the need for a sacrifice when it comes to smaller sins in the first place?

SoldierOfTheDeen too many Questions that are actually linked to another. Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice that whoever believes in him can be saved. Believing includes repenting from sin and living according to Jesus Christ. Yet no man on earth is perfect. Without the sacrifice every man would had to wait until judgment day for God to judge. God would judge according to our good and evil deeds and according to our conscience. (That is Islam) The problem here is just that no man knows how many good deeds he has to perform or how often he or she actually sins. ! If it depends only on the good deeds, how difficult can it be to make it to Heaven? God would have to be unjust to neglect some bad deeds for one person an not for the other, right? Apart from that not every human has the same chance/possibility to do good. Yet God wants every one to have a fair chance to make it to heaven.It only requires to seek the truth from all your heart. God is the truth and not religion. After finding God your life will change and good fruits (good deeds) come along. God makes it possible to do good deeds and not man. That is my believe, which contradicts Islam. God shows us his grace before we die and not just afterwards. He wants to lead us already while we are alive. He wants us to build that relationship to him while we are on earth so that Satan will have no space in our lives. He makes it possible for us to know that he is ready to do everything for us to have a fair chance to come to heaven and he gives us a reason to love him, because he loved us first that he gave his only son. Knowing that our heavenly father sent his only begotten son to die on the cross shows how mercyful and how close and how carrying God is to his creation. He doesn't demand something from us that he hasn't fulfilled in the body of Jesus Christ.

The fact of the matter is that this alleged sacrifice (leaving aside the plethora of arguments that can be made against it) would have opened the door for a new sin that a person can commit in time. A sin for which the sacrifice itself cannot atone in any way. That is the sin of rejecting it at some point in time. If one were to repent from rejecting the "truth" will God forgive us? If so then that sin cannot be atoned for by the sacrifice for if it did, believing wouldn't be a requisite.
