Alex and I went to the same high school together. We were even in the same drama club. They were a year younger than me, but man, they were a very good actor.

This is not true. Alex is the first to win a Tony for acting. Jenna Ushkowitz who played Tina Cohen-Chang won two Tonys awards as a Producer. One for the 2017 revival of the musical "Once On This Island" that Alex was in, and one for the 2018 play "The Inheritance.

I LOVE the diversity in Theater now, but I am concerned about LGB and 'cis' women feeling overwhelmed by TQ+ .. Alex seems to be a gay cis-man who likes presenting as a woman sometimes, and what is wrong with that? The non binary identification is very confusing to me. But then, I am 54 lol
@battlegirldeb Жыл бұрын
Nonbinary is not that confusing. It's just a person who doesn't see their self as either male or female, but both. This is why Alex won for Best Feature Actor in a Musical as to not take anything away from a cis woman in the other category. Also 54 by the way.
@ArtTheSinger Жыл бұрын
I feel that right now because it’s not many trans and nonbinary in the theaters it’s not an issue for cis people however when it becomes more popular beyond the stage to movies it’s going to be an issue. I can see Alex playing a role that was meant for a cis black woman. Where do that leave cis women who already have limited roles/work? It will be more nonbinary actors of all backgrounds in the next 10 years. A lots of actors will lose work. I have to add it’s going to become, like why not hire a nonbinary actor for a role the studio doesn’t have to worry about those actors having children to stay with or raising a family and a lot of expenses that come with that.

@@ArtTheSinger I've never seen someone invent so many fake problems so quickly to justify their transphobia. Good job to you and Kate. Perhaps you'd both be happier on TERF island with your kinfolk.

What do you mean LGB feeling overwhelmed? I’m gay and I can tell you I’m not overwhelmed by TQ+. Speak for yourself. This is the type of fear mongering that doesn’t constructively help the conversation. As a gay man who has also been a recipient of this type of fear mongering (still am in some places), rather than feeling overwhelmed by TQ+, I feel empathy, solidarity, gratitude and inspiration to have their back just like they had it for me when my community needed it most!
