@ I disagree. Points of view and memory can change day to day and week to week. Plus whenever there are two people, their views are entirely different altogether. So if the year or place of something in the Bible differs from people by just a little bit, that’s really not a big deal in the slightest. It is the actions and what happens that matters most. Cheers Alex. A little sad though as it also seems clear Christianity was likely jammed down Alex’s throat early and he therefore feels the need to go so deeply into the obvious inadequacies of the text compared to what religious ppl claim and believe. Yeah, it's not like the fear of hell and everlasting torment, right? ---------------------------------------------------‐----- *This website is designed to spread the vicious truth about the Bible. For far too long priests and preachers have completely ignored the vicious criminal acts that the Bible promotes. The so called God of the Bible makes Osama Bin Laden look like a Boy Scout. This God, according to the Bible, is directly responsible for many mass-murders, rapes, pillage, plunder, slavery, child abuse and killing, not to mention the killing of unborn children.* I have included references to the Biblical passages, so grab your Bible and follow along. *It always amazes me how many times this God orders the killing of innocent people even after the Ten Commandments said Thou shall not kill.* For example, God kills 70,000 innocent people because David ordered a census of the people (1 Chronicles 21). God also orders the destruction of 60 cities so that the Israelites can live there. He orders the killing of all the men, women, and children of each city, and the looting of all of value (Deuteronomy 3). He orders another attack and the killing of all the living creatures of the city: men and women, young, and old, as well as oxen sheep, and asses (Joshua 6). In Judges 21 He orders the murder of all the people of Jabesh-gilead, except for the virgin girls who were taken to be forcibly raped and married. When they wanted more virgins, God told them to hide alongside the road and when they saw a girl they liked, kidnap her and forcibly rape her and make her your wife! *Just about every other page in the Old Testament has God killing somebody!* In 2 Kings 10:18-27, God orders the murder of all the worshipers of a different god in their very own church! In total God kills 371,186 people directly and orders another 1,862,265 people murdered The God of the Bible also allows slavery, including selling your own daughter as a sex slave (Exodus 21:1-11), child abuse (Judges 11:29-40 & Isaiah 13:16), and bashing babies against rocks (Hosea 13:16 & Psalms 137:9). *This type of criminal behavior should shock any moral person.* ***Murder, rape, pillage, plunder, slavery, and child abuse can not be justified by saying that some god says it’s OK.*** If more people would actually sit down and read the Bible there would be a lot more atheists like myself. Jesus also promoted the idea that all men should castrate themselves to go to heaven: For there are eunuchs, that were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are eunuchs, that were made eunuchs by men: and there are eunuchs, that made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it (Matthew 19:12). *I don’t know why anyone would follow the teachings of someone who literally tells all men to cut off their privates.* The God of the Bible also was a big fan of ritual human sacrifice and animal sacrifice. *And just in case you are thinking that the evil and immoral laws of the Old Testament are no longer in effect, perhaps you should read where Jesus makes it perfectly clear:* It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid (Luke 16:17). There are many more quotes on this topic at my Do Not Ignore the Old Testament web page. If you follow the links on this site you will learn about all the nasty things in the Bible that are usually not talked about by priests and preachers. EvilBible.com Also watch *Context!!!!!!* by NonStampCollector. (A good video for believers who try and justify Biblical atrocities and immorality by saying "Out of context!)

What's funny is our tendency to point out contradictions without asking: "Why are there contradictions?" Regardless if we are trying to discredit or support the Biblical narrative, it is a fact that there are glaring contradictions within the Gospels. But why? The simple answer, it was written by regular humans. Were the birth narratives different? Yep! Why? Let's make some guesses: 1) The authors are different people, different agendas, different perspectives, 2) Retrieved information from different sources. Who did they speak to regarding the birth of Jesus? Was it direct family members? Randos that claimed they knew they story? 3) What was happening in their environments when collecting the information and writing? I believe Christian's were being treated poorly at the time. How did this influence their writings, beliefs, or distribution of their work? Now, how do we view scripture in general? Is it infallible? Divine? Divinely inspired? Made up? Truth? Fiction? The lens with which we view the Bible will influence our criticism.

Arguing semantics is always the most intelligent of all arguments and Dinesh does it well, being his only argument.

Dinesh is also ignoring the reasoning people use to believe god created the universe today, to think that the writers of the bible couldn't think the same things. The idea of "we make stuff, so god made all the stuff" could have been an easy "guess".

The type of fallacious thinking dinesh locks himself into to defend these ridiculous ancient superstitions is dumbfounding.

The problem I have with the whole Jesus story is there is no writings taken at the time of the event outside of the Bible. The earliest mention of this supposed event was mentioned by Tacitus who was born in 59 AD, decades after the supposed event happened. According to the Bible, specifically the Gospel of Matthew, when Jesus died on the cross, the sky turned dark for three hours, and an earthquake occurred at the moment of his death, causing the curtain in the temple to tear in two and rocks to split apart. These are all very specific, yet the only thing that has come out of all of this is in 2012 someone pinpointing an earthquake that happened on April 3 33AD. I find it extremely hard to believe that an event this important in history has no written records from anyone that was actually at the event, even with an illiteracy rate of 90% at the time. In 79AD when pompeii was destroyed, there still has been written accounts found from the time, and at this point the illiteracy rate was 85%. Even if orally passed, there should not be any dispute WHERE something this significant happened.

I don’t think it’s a 50:50 guess on the start of the universe- everyone has always wanted to understand origins, and pretty much every religion has a creation myth. And it would surely be clear to everyone that there must have been a time before humans, or at least they came from somewhere, so that there was some kind of beginnings was fairly obvious.

Genesis describes a flat Earth with a solid dome covering it. So much for the authors having a scientific understanding of the formation of the Earth. Look up the below from a Biblical scholar: *"Genesis 1:9-10 - God Creates Dry Land not the Planet Earth!"* - Dr Steven DiMattei Also, watch Professor Christine Hayes who lectures on the Hebrew Bible. Watch lecture 3 from 34:10 to 35:17 minutes.

What was painfully exposed was that the gospels were written by fallible, temporal beings who did't have 100% memory recall.

The conclusion I reached after the first 5 minutes of the video is that their god of the Bible doesn't give two shits about the precision of the message it tried to deliver in the work, the most important thing, inspired by him. Folks write stuff down and they failed to agree on simple facts, and it isn't contradiction, astonishing!

Dinesh is answering as a intellectual, the way Jordan Petersen would answer, They do not use scripture. Jesus is actually 33.5 years. he starts his ministry at age 30, his birthday, sukkoth , october in that time. he ministers for 1260 days, 3.5 years. This is the same time allotted to Satan's rule on earth in the tribulation. the 1260 days is mentioned 7 times. he died at Passover. Which is in April so he ministered for 42 months. when the bible conflicts its pointing to deeper matters. Alex says he knows how the earth is formed - that is opinion. as its not SCIENCE. Science is done in a lab, its repeatable results. Saying you know what happened 4.5 billion years ago is opinion. as the speed of light may not be fixed. The order of events are not witnessed. Again scientists have changed their opinions about how things have formed multiple times. If the dead all wake up - an impossible action , in this decade. All Science is dead. Logic dies. We assert John 5-25. God will raise up every dead man. From his grave. Show me now how that is possible in science? If this event occurs. SCIENCE is DEAD. The age of Jesus can be seen differently because some believe you start at conception,. some at actual birth. Its a personal viewpoint issue. In Asia today the do that. when i give my age i sometimes say it wrong as i never remember it. i have to think of the year and count. 57. so its opinion. Alex described a man wearing a coloured jacket. What if you are colour blind? who then is right as a witness. What if the witness was not paying attention to colours?
