Being a feminist, I am completely against this. If Ellen or any talk show asked a girl to do this and guys hollered or whatever the male equivalent is of squealing than A LOT OF PEOPLE IF NOT ALL will have a problem. If something isn't right for females than it shouldn't be right for males. If you are against objectification of women, you should be against it for men. I know there are some who don't view objectification as an issue or think it is perfectly right for either genders to be sexualize, but my point isn't about that. My point is for people who think objectifying males is okay, but when it comes to women they are sensitive.

Honestly, the double standard annoys me! As a female I understand the obstacles women still face even in Western society, but men face sexism too and we need to acknowledge those. We have support for female rape survivors, but we never talk about male survivors. Sexism exists for men too, even in history. Prior to 1988 (only 27 years ago), boys weren't protected from sex crimes. How ridiculous is that? We all have this image that guys are always horny and even though I find it stupid to generalize like that I can let it go, but what possible reason apart from sexism can there be for not protecting CHILDREN from pedophiles in a overall good country like Canada? SEXISM AGAINST GUYS NEEDS TO STOP just as much as it needs to stop against women. Equality isn't one gender getting everything. I was told to stop using the word feminist and use humanist. I'm all about celebrating difference (Canadian way of life), but males need to be treated with respect and dignity. I forgot Alex was in Magic Mike since I never watched the movie, so he might not be the best example to put forth. Men are 3x more likely to commit suicide than women, so yeah when I see attitudes of such nature, which can affect males' self-esteem it MAKES ME MAD. Being a woman, I understand sexist attitudes towards women in both western and eastern culture because I am Desi Canadian. However, males suffer too and I want equality. Males cannot be thought as breadwinners (more of a desi stereotype than Cnd) and emotionless. I suggest you read some articles on male mental health and male rape victims (not survivors as they are still suffering and stigmatized) because anyone who is aware of these issues will see this for what it is (A HUGE PROBLEM THAT WE ARE NOT ADDRESSING AS A SOCIETY).
